This is the forum for people who are trying to follow the Carbohydrate Addicts Diet. The diet allows 2 meals and all snacks to be a combination of LC veggies and protein. (the CM or CS). One meal a day is the Reward Meal (RM). This consists of visually 1/3 protein, 1/3 LC veggies, and 1/3 carbs. If you want more carbs you need to eat an equal amount of the other two. The meal needs to be completed in one hour. If you want more specifics, there is a thread on this forum called "CALP plan reviewed".

In the mean time, things that will help you a lot: get rid of the carbs in your house. If you don't have them, you can't eat them. If you are going to eat carbs, try to stick with the most whole-grain version of grains, raw fruit instead of juice or dried fruit. You can have dessert, but you need to include it in the 1/3 proportions and the 1 hour time frame.

This is a great place for help and encouragement. Write if you need help.

I post a journal daily. You are welcome to check it out, if it helps.

Hi Lori,
For what it's worth, my cravings are much less with CALP than they were before. I have never done Atkins, but you might want to check CALP out. Somewhere around here is a "self-test" you can take to see if this eating plan might work for you. I usually think those kind of tests are a little silly and that everyone would test how the authors want you to. However, my husband did not register as a nearly as much of a carbohydrate addict--and I was nearly off the chart. I think that was an accurate result. Let me know if you need help finding the link for the quiz.

I bumped up the thread. There are links to several helpful places, including the Carb Addict Self-Test.
