Hi, ladies! Hope you all had a good weekend.

I spent the weekend with a bad cold (and am still suffering with it). But, the difference is that this time I stayed on plan. I made some of the Green Soup from this recipe section... pretty good stuff. Also made the Cheddar Cabbage from the Heller's cookbook... pretty good, but next time I'll add some pepper and garlic powder (and maybe a little more cheese). Resisted snacking yesterday afternoon when my DH was munching popcorn and my DD was munching apple slices. Was hungry, but waited it out until dinner because I couldn't think of any LC thing I wanted to snack on. I'm glad I stuck it out.

My stats for the week are... Actual weight down 2 pounds to 156.5 ~~ 7-day average down 1.1 pounds to 158.2

Last night when I was lying in bed trying to go to sleep, I decided that I would like to be out of the 150's by my birthday (March 29th). This will probably be with my actual weight rather than my average. Wish me luck!

Wishing everyone a great week!

Debby

Hi Debby!
I don't know if you remember me, I was posting here kind of regularly a few months ago. I just wanted to say hello and "awesome job" on your eating. It looks like you are doing great with CAD and on the downhill slide again!
I have switched over to Protein Power. I was not able to get aways from reward meal "binges" and I was doing a lot of not eating all day and then eating way too much for dinner. Protein Power is working much better for me and even though my loss is slow, I feel like I am eating much healthier (and I say healthier just for me personally--CALP is plenty healthy, just not the plan for me, I think).
I pop in here every so often to see how you and Ilse are doing. You were both very helpful to me when I was doing CALP.
Best of luck for your continued success!

Amy

Hi Debby! Sorry to hear you're sick. Glad you stayed on plan! Great job on the 2 lb loss!

Sometimes just knowing you can have your RM in a few hours helps you stick it out. I made a cookie type bar just before dinner last night, couldn't wait to try it with my RM, as it was, the chocolate that was put on top was too sweet and I only ate the bottom. It's funny the sweet stuff I usually liked don't appeal as much as they used to. Oh, I still like a little for my RM but I don't need them like I used to.

To report, my official loss for the week is 1 lb. I weighed on friday. It's coming off slowly, but surely. I am hoping to lose about 6 lbs in March - not quite sure if I can do it or not.

Til next time.
Karen

Hi all,
Good job, Debby and Karen! It's so nice to see success, even if it's not my own.

I am at 203 this morning, both real and average for the week. That's a gain of 2.5 real and 1.7 average since last Monday. After a big loss during my first 2 weeks on CALP, I've fluctuated between 200.5 and 204 for the last 4 weeks. It's starting to get frustrating, but I'm not giving up.

This week I will drink at least 80 oz. of water a day and walk at least a mile after work 3 evenings. And stay away from the roasted almonds.

Debby, my birthday is just a few days before yours, March 24. My goal is to be below 200 both real and average. I'd love to be at 195, but I want to be realistic. It won't be easy, since we're spending next week at Disney World/Disney cruise, and I've got two business trips later in the month -- one to New Orleans. I'm fairly confident that I'll be okay at Disney, but the business trips will include several catered meals. That likely means continental breakfasts of pastries and fruit, with nary a low-carb item in sight. I guess I can take some shakes and just skip the high carb options.

It's nice to have the support -- and accountability -- here with y'all.

Amy, good to hear from you! I was wondering what happened with you. I'm glad you've found what works for you. That's the thing... we're all so different. Best to you, too! Oh, and I still need to try your spinach/meatball soup. Sounds good!

Karen, congrats on the pound! They all add up. I almost went off-plan yesterday due to TOM and some disappointing news. My RM wasn't well-balanced, but everything else was okay. Was up a pound and a half, but my average went down by 0.2 - gotta love that averaging! Will get back on a better track today.

Laly, hang in there! Just read your other post... remember the scale doesn't tell the whole story. When are you eating the roasted almonds? Really they should only be eaten in the RM. Maybe that's part of the problem. Best of luck to you with eating right when travelling! ...and don't forget to have fun.

Well, all... I did a little calculating and my goal/hope of being below 150 by my birthday is going to be hard to reach... without exercise, that is. Exercise has been hard for me due to our family schedule (won't go into all the details), but I do need to figure out how to start getting it in. Wish me luck!
