| Ok so i decided to give the Zone a try cause Atkins is not going anywhere with me...ive been stalled like almost a year on and off..way too long....i believe im eating too much fat and amounts on Atkins...and not use to that...mind you its a good LC diet but i guess not for everyone...so what do i have to lose aside from 15ish lbs? thats why i will give the Zone a try and see what that gives me... question here...the zone bars, can i use them as a replacement meal? its mostly for mornings due to the fact i dont have time to eat... and im allow 13 blocks per day...so even though i read and re-read over and over and over that block issue...im still a tiny bit lost...lol and i know i have to do that palm size meat, the fist vegie etc...but its the snacks that i might need help here... thanks guys... helene OH WOW, it says when i logged on that last time i visited was in 1969 lol...thats too funny

| Did you get my response to your PM on the old board before the changeover?? If not, it's still there, or I made a copy I could send you. Welcome to the Zone!!!! OK, about the Zone bars.....I have to say that when I first started on the Zone six years ago I occasionally did the Zone or Balance bars. Occasionally as a breakfast, or sometimes a half of one before or after I worked out. Although yes, I did lose weight using them, I honestly have to tell you that I don't use them now for two reasons.... Occasionally they'd cause cravings, yuck, AND the carb component is mainly high fructose corn syrup, which is being studied as possibly a carb which actually promotes weight gain in some individuals...... Overall, though, the bars would are a YMMV kind of thing; so I'd encourage you to watch your reactions very carefully to see how it works for you. For some bars are fine; others, like Connie (CR), have found they have to stay away from the them. I tended to do better with a protein drink for breakfast (low carb vanilla whey powder, some berries) and a couple of nuts. I tend not to care for breakfast, either, so honestly, I have a latte (milk has protein, carb, fat) when I get up, and then some kind of small meal an hour or two later.......it's ok to be a little flexible as long as you are feeling good, have energy, etc.!

| Helene, I'm always happy to answer questions if I can, so please don't hesitate to ask. Not saying I'll always know the answer, but hey, we can give it a shot, eh?

| I think you will do well, Helene, especially if you make the best choices you can with your carbs, proteins, and fats. If you aren't already, you might want to start taking your measurements weekly. I found that my measurements changed more than most people on Atkins in a similar amount of time although my weight loss seemed slow. So glad you are feeling good, too. That's very important. And as far as not being hungry--remember that Sears says that if you let yourself get too hungry, your blood sugar has probably already dropped too low. Keeping insulin as even as possible is the key to good health and perfect weight.
