Hi Ilse, glad you're back. Regarding your question about fat intake. For me, just this week I've been trying to be more aware of it. I was reading in the CAD book that low fat during CM's is actually recommended. I haven't switched over to low fat everything, I'll do that gradually because I'm not a huge fan of low fat cheese. It looks like melted plastic and doesn't taste much better either. As far as feeling satisfied with lowering the fat, I have forced myself to stop eating between meals so when the hunger pains start to hit I suck down the water and it helps. But for the most part, I've felt really good only eating 3 meals.

I was reading on another website that I think you visited at one time that CAD/CALP isn't Atkins with a reward meal. That really hit home with me because I was eating however much cheese and meat I wanted. Now I'm weighing and measuring salad dressings to keep myself in check.

I bloat up from too much salt so I'm also looking at my salt intake. I am forever bloating up and working all week to get it off. So far since Monday of this week I've lost 5 1/2 lbs of the bloat I had. <sigh> Glad it's gone, if only I could get if off and keep it off.

Are you thinking of doing the Michael Thurmond again?

This sure helps put it in perspective! I was doing the same thing but now I'm really trying to keep it better in check.

Well, yesterday, for my daytime snack and lunch, I made potatoes to go with the fish. I know that's not CALP, but I have been re-reading Schwarbein and she emphasises to balance the food at every meal to not mess up the hormones. (to have controlled carbs, protein, fats, and LC veggies, but not massive quantities of any, except maybe the LC veggies.) So, that was my thinking...
