Default Checking in ~ April 12-18

This has been a good week for me. I've stayed on plan with only a few minor indiscretions. (I wish I could train DH to PUT THE PEANUT BUTTER AWAY when he's done with it! ) I've also joined a walking challenge and am trying to walk at least 10 miles a week for the rest of the month. All of that shows in my stats for the week: I'm at 202 today, which is down 2 actual, 1.9 average for the week. I even saw 201 one day, so I'm hoping it will show up again a few more times this week.

I hope all had a wonderful holiday, whichever one you celebrate.

Hi Laly - Great job on the loss! I'm a bit shocked at what I did this week. I told my DH that my scales had better not be messing with my mind. I got on 3 times Saturday and got the same reading each time. From Sunday to Saturday, a loss of 7 1/2 lbs!! Bloat loss from overeating last weekend, but really aside from the bloat loss I figured at least 3 1/2 of it was real. Now, the way my pattern goes, I'll lose this and I'll balloon back up to my set point weight. <sigh>. I'd better not, but we'll see. I've been doing pretty well sticking with it.

Take care!
Karen

Karen,
Yippee, yahoo, jump for joy, WTG :jumpgreen :jumpgreen I am really impressed! Even if the 7.5 is only temporary, a good chunk of it HAS to be real. Just keep it foremost in your mind this week and it will surely stay.

Thumbs up Re: Checking in ~ April 12-18

Hi, Laly and Karen! Congrats to both of you! Looks like everyone's had a good week this week (although some better than others ).

I'm down 3.5 pounds on actual (which puts me back where I was 2 weeks ago <sigh>) and down 0.7 on my average. Hey, I'll take whatever I can get. Ate on-plan until yesterday (see my journal), but it hasn't appeared to hurt me.

Was all set to be on-plan today and have been so far, but a friend called and wants to 'treat' me to coffee as a late b-day present. Don't know what I'll do. I know I 'could' stay on-plan, but not sure I'll have the fortitude to do so. So, I'm going to go get some exercise in right now to maybe help defray any damage I might do. Just got DD down for a nap (although I can hear her moving around up there), so hopefully I'll have time to get in my 30-min WATP tape and a shower before she wakes up.

My attitude seems to have changed (thankfully). So even though I might eat off-plan this afternoon, I know I will get right back on tomorrow.

Have a great week everyone!

I am just bursting with pride at our little group of losers! :jump:

I'm so pleased that I'm choosing to ignore what the Dr.'s scale said at my appointment this morning. Have to get my semi-annual fasting lipid test tomorrow morning. Even though I'm on meds, I'm a little worried that the positive effects of this woe won't have kicked in yet and my levels will be high. One piece of good news: my bone-density is back up to normal so I can go off Fosamax. And one worry: Have to go back on Friday for a follow-up "isolated" mammogram and ultrasound to check on a spot they found last week. I just passed my 10-year survival mark from breast cancer on the other side. Keep me in your thoughts.

Karen, we are doing great! Thanks for all of your support/input.

I have some good news to report today ... was down 1.5 pounds this morning. Woohooo! ... and my avg came down by 1/2 pound. Yeah! :jumpgreen

We CAN do this! Especially with each other's support.

Debby,
Woo Hoo is right! I too was down a pound this morning, the second time I've been at 201 in the last week. My average was down .4. One more time and I'll feel confident enough to change my sig line. That is real motivation!

We three ROCK!

I was wondering. Do any of you CAD/CALP-ers watch your fat intake? When I lost 100 pounds on my own, I did not watch fats. When I did CALP and WW, I mostly did. Just wondering....

Ilse,
I don't watch fat intake at all. Maybe I should, but I don't. Not sure what everyone else does.

Ilse,
I've started trying to be a little more careful of my fat intake. I stalled and gained pretty bad after my initial large loss and was looking for ways to help get back on track. I quit using Fitday during the stall, so I couldn't really tell what the problem was -- besides one vacation and two business trips and all the eating out involved. Even after I got back on track after the last trip, I still wasn't losing. So I went back to Fitday and started entering everything again. Even though we don't really look at carb counts for our RM, I was at a pretty consistent level between 40-60 per day, not subtracting fiber. I felt that carb levels weren't really the problem, so I decided to try to cut the calories just a little. I know what calorie levels worked when I was on WW and I was quite a lot higher than that. I was always hungry and had cravings on WW, but this woe keeps me satisfied. So I decided to try for around the same calorie level as worked on WW. The easiest way for me to do that is to cut back on fats. I found a good lite ranch salad dressing that is only 7 grams fat/3 grams carb for 2 Tablespoons instead of 15/1. I use a little less cooking oil, cut back on the cheese, more chicken and fish, less pork and ground beef. My average calorie intake is down by about 200. I've lost slowly but consistently over the last 2 weeks, so I think the stall is broken, although I'm just now at the weight I was before the stall/gain.

So, that's a long version of "Yes, I'm watching my fat intake!"

I was a lot less satisfied with CALP when I was serously watching my fat intake. It kindof "took the joy" out of the whole thing, if you know what I mean.

Started back mostly yesterday. Not perfectly. I was expecting to go out to dinner last night, but didn't.

Just so you know, I did mostly CALP yesterday.

I had stopped doing WW around my vacation trip this last March. I am still writing what I eat (when I remember all of what it was) in my WW paper journal, but I am no longer adding up points.

Debby, I started a new thread about Fat Flush in the reduced carb forum. I included a couple of links.
