Okay, as for tweaks, I think I'm okay with just the FFP. I thought there was something new for the 2 wks cleansing.

Are you two doing the hot water and lemon? I hadn't started yet. I wanted to wait 'till my book came in and to look around for a place that sold lemons at a good price. LOL

Rob,

I think when you measure the flax seed, the measurement on the package is prior to grinding, as grinding methods could vary, resulting in different amounts of ground seed. I haven't tried different methods of grinding myself to check it out.

So, if you go by the package nutritional amounts, you should be fine.

Otherwise, if you really are worried about it, go to the Fat Flush forum and ask someone. There is a Flax section there.

Ilse - I finally did the experiment myself. I put 3 tbs of flax seed in my grinder and out came 4 1/2 tbs of flax meal. so if I use 2 tbs I'll have the 3 I need for the long life cocktail. I get my flax seed in bulk so there is no label.

CrazeeKat - I've been lax on my lemon water. I have the long life cocktail as soon as I get up followed by a whole pot of coffee and maybe 40 ounces of water in my first 90 minutes. The thought of hot water with lemon is daunting after all that. But I will try harder.

Okay, I'm very pleased today. I started the cran-water Tuesday of this week, weighing 150.5 and this morning I weigh 149.5. I haven't changed my eating habits. I'm still doing a variation of the SP plan and adding the cran-water.

I will add the lemon water next week. So far go good...

Very Good! So far I'm up 3.5 pounds but I've been low carbing so long that I wasn't expecting a loss immediately from the cran water. I'm giving it another week or more before I decide on it as a permanent part of my woe.

This morning I dropped 2 1/2 of the 3 1/2 I had gained. So things are starting to level off. I've decided to start decreasing my caffeine by gradually having less coffee each day. I think I'll follow Gittleman's instruction and go down to one cup of organic coffee a day. I had to drop the flax oil capsules, they were messing with my energy levels. I haven't a clue why that might be or if that is really true.

Rob, and Kelli,

I am very interested in hearing your comments about this as time progresses. I had been off track for a while, so I put myself on an Atkins-type regime, which should end no later than next Friday. Then, FF Phase I. I needed to be very strict to avoid temptations....

I was down another half pound this morning, so I'm only 1/2 a pound above where I started. Am going to follow some of her plan a little more closely. Like the organic coffee, 1 cup, I mentioned before. And making sure i get the long life cocktail twice a day. Last week i mostly had it once.

Rob, I knew you would see a loss. Congrats!! Let us know how the organic coffee tastes. That is the one part I will keep the same. I've already dropped my coffe intake to 1 cup per day. I think I will do fine.

My books "The Fat Flush & The Master Cleanse" arrived. I just finished the "MC" and it was intersting but too extreme for me. However, it made a lot of good points about cleansing and flushing. Reading that book helped me confirm that doing the FFP will benefit me. I will start reading it ASAP. The only bad thing is I'm out of cranberry juice. But I've got my lemons. LOL

Ilse, I'm here for a while. I think all three of us will learn from each other. This will be interesting. We'll have you in a few days following the FFP phase 1 strictly, Rob & I following a variation of the FFP. However, like Rob, I may incorporate more of FF as I get more accustom to the FFP.

Went to a cookout (BBQ) yesterday and ate a handful of tortilla chips (3 carbs per chip) and 2 hamburger buns. I think my body was just craving carbs because I had walked the full 7 miles around the lake. So needless to say I'm up 3 pounds this morning. But today I'm making up for it. I am buying a big bag of lemons, the organic coffee and more of that cranberry juice. I figure even if it is priced like liquid gold it's making me feel better. I figure if I can cur caffeine down to 1 cup I may eventually get to do the FF plan in full.

I had way too many carbs this weekend. Part of it was due to our grandson visiting overnight. We got food we thought he would enjoy. I was too hungry and overdid. I bloated up so much!

This morning, I made a 32 oz portion of cran-water and will have that to drink. Hope to follow Atkins-type of eating this week. My DH is out of town for a few days, so it makes me want to get take-out food. I was looking at movie times for movies he's not interested in seeing. I don't have any lemons in the house, so I need to get some. I also need to stop at a Whole Foods and Trader Joe's sometime soon.

It's funny, it think I was dreaming about Flax seeds last night. I need to get some ground up this morning to add to my protein shake.

Rob, wishing you ( as well as me) godspeed in getting rid of that bloat!

Kelli, I appreciate your input too.

Italian sausages for dinner didn't help reduce my bloat. But I did get the organic coffee yesterday ($10 a pound) and a bag of lemons ($1.69 at aldis). So this morning I started with the long life cocktail, with ground flax seed, while the coffee was brewing. Then 1 mug of organic coffee. Then the lemon and hot water. The lemon water kind of helped keep my mind off the fact that I was only having 1 cup of coffee.

Rob,

I had gotten the Teeccino coffee a while back. I think I got it at Whole Foods for $7.99. I'm not positive about the price. I never tried it, as I like my coffee white and there's nothing allowed to put in it. I still need to get more lemons.

I had a good day yesterday. I had mostly a CALP day, except for the cran-water part of it (32 oz, not 64). No exercise except what I get walking to and from work twice a day. I went to see movies, that my DH isn't interested in seeing. I'll probably go again today.

I started reading the FFP and it is real interesting. I can't wait to finish. I'm getting anxious to start the plan. The more I read the more I want to try. Hopefully, I'll have it completed by the end of this week. I have a heavy work load and will not have much time to read except at night. Then of course I'm only good for a few pages and I fall asleep.

Rob, how did the coffee taste? I think after seeing the price you paid, I may try to further lessen my intake to just one cup on Saturdays and Sundays. NO coffee on the weekdays. I would try to do without altogether, but my DH enjoys our coffee mornings together. Plus, I love coffee!!!! I can't part with it completely.

Ilse, is Whole Foods a market near you or is it a site you order from on line? I'm just amazed how you find all these items at such a super price. I haven't had such luck.

Kelli,

We have a few Whole Foods Market stores in the general area. Two are about 18 miles away (in different directions), one is about 28 miles, one is in Chicago, which is at least 30 miles away. Trader Joe's are not very close either. But, I try to make it out to them when I can. If I had people to shop with, I could be part of a food co-op and save even more money. But, I would need some fellow shoppers to join me. I want to go to Whole Foods sometime soon to get some more tea.

I was looking at the rebounder pictured in the Fat Flush Fitness book and it's expensive. I know they can be purchased at Wal-Mart for around $20 and up.
