Hee hee,

Ilse, I didn't use both flaxmeal and Psyllium together. I tried using each at different times. One LLC with flax and another LLC with the psyllium.

Now if I grind my own flax seeds, how do I know it is the right texture. Well, I may just stick to the psyllium husks. It will be simpler for now. I also have the flax oil. That is the only thing I keep forgetting to incorporating.

My energy level is better today. I have to teach another class tonight. I need my energy. I believe I'll be okay.

Thanks Ilse I'll have to check for dandelion root tea. But I think I'm going to continue to have one cup of ginseng energy tea a day. it seems to help wake me up the way a full pot of coffee used to do.

Kelli - I was going to suggest that you include the legal cheat of 1 cup organic coffee a day, but you've made it this far. You're half way home.

I read yesterday that flax oil should not be taken by men as several studies have linked it to an increase in prostate cancer. But I found it didn't agree with me anyway so I stopped taking it after one day. I bought the evening primrose oil yesterday.

I grind my own flax seed not too fine. I find it helps with the cleansing just fine. I guess it's a YMMV issue. I cannot take psyllium husks at all. I bought 2 cannisters in the past 6 years and both sat on the shelf after one use. It's not just the horror of getting it down but it gives me intestinal distress.

I have a coffee grinder that grinds the seeds from a container into the top to one on the bottom. That way, the flax seeds don't get overheated. It's made by Melita (I got it at a Salton outlet store). It looks similar to the flax seed grinders I have seen on-line. I set it to a fine setting of 14 (I think) and run the seeds through a couple of times. It's supposed to look like sawdust, they said on the FF forum.

I found the dandelion root tea at my favorite supermarket, but haven't tried it. They did suggest if a person needs "white" "coffee" to use whey powder. I haven't tried it yet. The supermarket now carries cranberry concentrate. I don't remember how much it was. I found it in the grocery aisle, where they have the health foods.

Last night I sprinkled the ground flax seeds on some veggie soup.

Ilse - Sounds like a better coffee grinder than my $12 model. But I just grind the flax seed for 6 seconds, shake and wait a few seconds, then grind another 6 seconds. Works well and comes out like coarse sawdust.

Still haven't seen any weight loss, but am willing to keep on one more week. I do see my stomach getting a bit flatter. So something is happening. Just don't know why I haven't had any loss in 3 weeks.

Have gotten used to the one cup organic coffee. And no longer miss my 2 hour coffee drinking marathon every morning.

Messed up yesterday. It comes out eating out when too hungry. We had to replace our water heater yesterday and it messed up my thinking and timing. This is one more possible "booby-trap" day and then things can settle down.

I got a new book I had ordered a couple of months ago called "Fat Flush Foods". I got it from www.bamm.com for $8.33 (I belong to their Millionaire's Club) I didn't pay shipping as my orginal order was for more than $25. It's interesting and has some foods in there I didn't notice before (unless they are Phase III foods)

Still keeping to the one cup Organic coffee each morning followed by the llc (with ground flax) and the Lemon water. I'm actually enjoying the lemon water more and more since I started adding in stevia plus. An interesting side effect this morning - after drinking all this, and I suspect mostly swallowing the flax, I just couldn't eat a rael breakfast. Just 1 slice of lightly buttered toast. And only ate that so I could take my vitamins. But I also pigged out a bit yesterday, so this is probably a good way to start a "make up" day.

I'm starting over. I had no cran-water, flax, or lemon water yesterday. Today won't be perfect, as I am making smoothies from a mix of organic yogurt and strawberrries left over from yesterday.

Rob, interesting effect from what you are doing. Are you having the LLC upon rising?

Kelli, how are you doing?

Hello Ilse & Rob,

I'm still here. I'm also going to start over. I did real well with the cran-water, lemon water, flax oil & supplements, but I splurged on the eating. I will start again today as day 1. I'm still finding the spices boring. I'm still adding sea salt to my food. However, I am drinking more water to compensate.

I'm very happy with the coffee. I only had one cup Saturaday morning with my DH. I got such a caffine buzz that I didn't drink the entire mug. It's weird. I thought coffee would be my downfall, but it's not. I think what is going to break me is the food preparation. ...no butter,...no cream...no olive oil...no SALT. Well, at least for now. Are you finding this 2 wks FF tough than Adkins induction? I am.

Ilse, let me know how the new book turns out. I almost purchased it and the FF cookbook. However, I decided to wait. I still need more items for this plan. I've got to go out an buy more cranberry juice and whey powder. I'm dying to try the smoothies.

Rob, I agree with you on the lemon water. I truly enjoy mine. I have it in the place of my coffee. I even get tempted to have after my lunch. I don't think it would do any harm.

Now as for effects I'm noticing...I no longer have the withdrawal symptoms, my rings are very loose, and like Rob, I'm feeling firmer.

In the new book, they recommend having the juice of one lemon a day. I'm sure it's fine if you drink the hot lemon-water whenever you want. Lemons are supposed to be a cholesterol zapper, a detoxifier, a diuretic, and thermogenic.

For food preparation, you can use low-sodium chicken broth. the juices of lemons or limes, ACV, some wine, as long as you cook the food long enough.

It's also interesting, in the new book, some of the spices are listed to have every other day, as more frequent use can make them less effective.

Ilse - yes first thing, while the water is boiling for my coffee, I make the LLC up and down it. Then the coffee (with 1/2 and 1/2) and the lemon water. This morning though I had that and was still hungry enough to have a 2 egg Denver omelet and a slice of LC toast. I've been making the same type of smoothie, only using frozen strawberries.

Kelli - That's why i can't do the entire Fat Flush plan. Too much of a low fat diet for my tastes. I think an extra cup of lemon water wouldn''t do anything except maybe help.

Geez, I slipped up again last night. After my workout class, I came home STARVING. I downed my cran-water and reached for the easiest thing to eat which ended up being a meatloaf sandwich (LC bread) with mayo. yummm...but bad.
I don't know if I can do this phase 1 completely. I'm still finding I want salt on my foods. The thing that seems to help is the ACV, but I can't put it on everything. Gosh, I miss using butter. Well I'm going to stick this out for 2 weeks and then move back into my modified version of SP plan and keep the lemon water, LLC, and supplements.

Okay enough whining because there have been some benefits since I've started the FFP. I've gotten off coffee. I've broken my stall and have gotten firmer. I don't feel as jiggley. LOL

Ilse, thank you for the info on the new book. I may get it. I need new ideas for the meals. Also, do you know which brand of whey powder is FF friendly?

Rob, since you've changed coffees, have you experienced any of the withdrawal symptoms? I was just wondering.

Have a nice day.

On the FF forum, there is a lot of discussion about Whey powders. There is also one for sale from Uni-key health systems.

I have a lot of a "not quite on plan" Whey powder, but had ordered it from the internet, so I am stuck with it.

Yeah, I read about the whey powders from Uni-key and it seems that most people who tried it find it too sweet. I guess I need to take another look and see if anyone posted an alternative.

I use Bio-Plex Whey Protein Powder. I have a lot of it, so I am not going to replace it anytime soon.

But, on the FF forum, they say that the Bio-Plex WPI (Whey protein isolate) in the plain flavor is great.

Here are a couple of links that sell the Bioplex Pure WPI:

http://www.beyondmuscle.com/bioplex-pure-wpi.html(at $22.95 a cannister)

and
http://www.vitaplus.net/index.asp?Pa...ROD&ProdID=191 (come out to $22/cannister

I am excited! I had a really good OP day yesterday and a 1/2 OP day on Monday. I am down 6 pounds from yesterday! I know it was bloat, but it needed to go. I'm sure it helped I went swimming yesterday for 1/2 hour and did 5 min of jumping in the water.
