The Fat Flush Plan is a diet and the title of a book by Ann Louise Gittleman.
It's main purpose is as a liver cleansing diet and weight loss (fat loss) plan. I'm not doing the diet myself just the cleansing rituals like Long Life cocktail which uses cranberry juice in water with ground flax or psyllium. Ilse can probably explain more about the diet since she's following it.

Ilse - Good loss rate! Congratulations.

I've decided that I've gotten all the benefit from the limited amount I'm doing of this plan. So when the juice runs out I am not getting more. But I'm glad i followed the plan for the few weeks I did. I haven't lost a pound since i started but I feel more energetic and my kidneys no longer hurt. I'll have the cran water or LLC as an occasional "treatment". Maybe a couple times a year. The best thing this plan did for m was get me down from one pot of coffee a day to one cup )large mug) of organic coffee a day. I just bought a full bag of Paul newman's organic coffee and it's very very good. Plus it's fair traqde certified, so the growers are guaranteed to have been compensated at a living wage.

So even though I won't be following any part of the FFP (except maybe the lemon and hot water) I will still be following everyone's progress in this thread.

Good Luck!

Tlemon,

You can get a little bit of information if you follow the links at the beginning of this topic. It is based on a series of books by Anne Louise Gittleman, with the premise that certain foods are friendly to detoxifying the liver and certain foods are toxic to the liver and should be avoided.

If you want to read the book, a good place to start might be your local library.

I was glad that Saturday, I avoided temptation and didn't eat any almonds. I had some in my hand and put them back. Yeah! Because, when I start eating them, its hard to stop again. I was pretty well OP except I made my chicken broth too strong, therefore too salty. Maintaining at 227.

Kelli, how are you doing?

Rob, we'll miss your take on this. At least you know if you start feeling lethargic and your kidneys start hurting again, you know a way to deal with it.

Rob, you will be missed. However, continue following our progress. I know I'd appreciate any input from you or chime back in at ANY time.

Ilse, my rash is still here. It's is weird. I've got all these ideas on what could be causing it but no solution. I even cut down on the cran-water consumption a bit and didn't drink any lemon water this weekend to see if it would improve. I may have to see a doctor soon.

Kelli,

You don't have problems from allergies? They do allow for cran-water to be replaced with pomegranete water if there are allergies. The formula is different than for the cran-water. I think it's in the FF Cookbook. But, The author can't guarantee the pom-water will be as effective in helping the liver.

Over the weekend, I put my cranberry juice in my protein shakes. Otherwise, I am prone to not having any cran-water at all.

My gliches for Sunday were popcorn at the movies and bacon later at home. But, I stayed away from the almonds and cashews. (you don't know how many times I opened the container and had some in my hand that I put back)

Ilse,

I don't have any food allergies. I think I ate too many cherry tomatoes. I looked back in my journal and the only change I made right before the rashes appeared was eating lots and lots of cherry tomatoes. I'm thinking the combination of being hormonal, eating too many cherry tomatoes, eating oranges, strawberries, cran-water and lemon-water caused the outbreak. I'm slowing down on the FF until my skin gets back to normal. I'm still doing the LLCs, lemon water & evening primrose, but eating LC. Once my rashes go away, I'll start again.

I can already feel a difference of not drinking as much cran-water. I only had three 8 oz glasses of cran-water today. I may increase the amount tomorrow. I'll see.

I am well on track this week. I have been avoiding temptation in the almonds. I stare at them, but haven't been eating them. Yesterday, I took a bit of my protein shake mix and made popsicles out of them. In the evening, when I get the munchies, I had the popsicles and was perfectly good.

I have started making a super smoothie for breakfast: with some of my cran-water, the LLC, a piece of fruit, my tablespoon of flax oil. I even added some lime juice for extra zing. I have still been drinking the hot lemon water in the AM.

Tomorrow may be a challenge, as I will be visiting cousins. Maybe not....

Well,

Yesterday was a potential "danger" day for me. I was out from 7:00am to 9:30PM. I made good choices at my cousin's house. At a restaurant, I asked for (and got): chicken broth without the noodles, broccoli instead of potato, lemon wedges for my salad instead of dressing, fresh fruit (strawberries, a small wedge of canteloupe, and 2 slices of orange) instead of ice cream, rice pudding or jello. My dad was surprised it actually worked. I told him I could at least ask, otherwise they don't know what I need and want. I did have way too much fruit yesterday! I can tell I had too much salt!

Kelli, how's it going for you?

Hi Ilse,

YOu did super at the restaurant. That is great you were able to your order.

My rash is slooowwwly going away. I'm still doing the LLC and lemon water. I cut the cran water down to just 3 glasses a day. However, I'm eating regular LC meals. I want to wait until the rash complete disappears before attempting the FFP again.

As for my weight, it is acceptable. TOM is here and I'm at 150.5. my sig is 149.5. I'm not complaining.

Kelli,

It's great to not be super bloated during TOM!

I think I had a pretty controlled day yesterday. I did have a bit too much sodium. I haven't weighed myself yet this am to see the result. Since it is much warmer most of the time outside, I am being better about swimming at the health club. I've been doing 30 minutes of swimming (mostly the back-stroke) and 5-6 min of jumping (as if I had a rebounder)

Well, I've been on the FF Plan 2 weeks, the first few days were rather rocky. I am at a 9.5 total weight loss, with 3.375 inches lost total. I'm staying on Phase I at least one more week.

Friday was a day of unexpected temptations. Someone brought several boxes of Dunkin Donuts to work. I didn't go look at them. When I thought I might look at them, they were gone. So, I didn't eat any.

We went to see "Shrek 2". We did have popcorn and soda there!

How are you doing?
