| Hi again Julie, I haven't heard of the body makeover, but I already eat little and often............I think it is much better for you overall and the body doesn't get time to be hungry, LOL. How much fat is there in your WOE? I ask because I don't like meat so I eat cheese, although I try to limit this to under 2 ozs a day......I am following the Paleo plan, I don't know if you have followed our talks on there, but I also eat a lot of fruit and a lot of people think that this interferes with their diet......what do you think? I am away next week from Saturday until probably mid week, depending how we feel..........we are going away with our daughter, her husband and the 2 boys, it gives me a chance to spend some quality time with them as they live the other side of town and with their school and after school activities we don't get to see them often. When I get back I will come back here and hopefully talk some more. Take care and keep up the good work, you have done so well I would like to find out more about your WOE if I may. Bye for now, love Louloo. x

| Hi again! Well, the key is - if you are eating a lot of fruit, that you need to control the insulin spikes that the fruit can cause... and to do this, you need protein at every meal - or everytime you eat fruits or other carbs. Protein slows the process of converting the carbs in the fruit to glucose stores, and helps regulate your insulin level. If you don't eat meat, you should consider buying a hi-quality protein powder or Pure protein bar, and having that with the fruit! That way, you won't be spiking the insulin everytime you eat! And cheese is good, the only problem would be the fat in it... if you are not restricting carbs, then the fat could cause a problem. I am now doing a very low carb plan... it's atkins I suppose, just that I still follow (as I stated before) some of what I have learned from the 6 week body makeover. I do the 60% fat, 5% carbs (all veggies and some cheese or cream), and 35% protein. I am loving eating this way... it's refreshing not to have to watch every single thing I eat... because the body makeover was a no fat, no salt, no sugar, low carb (using only potatoes, rice, and oatmeal as carb choices) type of diet. And very low calorie...but the basis was to eat for a certain body type... like slow metabolism apple shape, pear shape, etc... it works wonderfully, but leaves you feeling so deprived it's hard not to cheat! I don't know what the Paleo diet is.... is it similar to Atkins?? If you are, then I would say to eat only "negative calorie" fruits... here is a link http://www.weightlossforall.com/nega...foods-list.htm For what a negative calorie food is and what it means!! It is incredible to read, and will help you make the best fruit choices! If you have any other questions... please let me know... Unfortunately, I have been a life long dieter, and I know from trial and error what works and what is "fad"... good luck and have a wonderful time on your vacation!! Julie

| My two cents on the Warrior Diet... I have not read the details other that what was stated here but back in the late 80s I was forced to basically eat this way for 2 years cause of my work schedule. After awhile, I had no hunger whatsoever during the day and I would eat a huge meal at night. My results...weight gain (lots of it..20+ lbs). So I guess YMMV.

| Thanks Wolfman!! That was my experience too! your body shuts down and stores all the food you do eat as fat... It's amazing the "survival" technique we have! I hope everyone who is still considering it... will look at the logic of the "starvation mode" that our bodies have and look for a more balanced eating schedule!! Julie

| Hi Julie, I am back from my break and I have put on weight so I have to take myself in hand and get back on track. The Paleo is not like Atkins at all. We eat only what you can hunt, pick or gather. Some of us still use cheese as well.....me included. That's why we eat a lot of fruit. Or rather, I do, but I already eat this with cheese, so I don't seem to have much of a problem with it. Have a look through some of the posts on the Caveman/Paleolithic forum and let me know what you think. Thanks for the link, I will look at that tomorrow, tonight I have a lot to catch up with, but I will be back tomorrow. Don't forget to have a look at the Paleo thread in the Caveman-type diets. Take care, love Louloo. x
