I have been using Sam's Club Dietary Fiber Supplement for years (1 rounded tbsp every morning). First ingredient listed is 'sucrose'. Label states that 1 rounded tbsp contains 11 g of carbs (3 g of dietary fiber, 2 g of soluble fiber and 8 g of sugars). Is the net carb 8 g? Can you recommend a lower sugar Dietary Fiber Supplement? Thank you.

Yes, it would be 8. My personal opinion is that 8 net grams are too high, for any reduced carb diet. I'd rather waste my carb grams on real food! If you take that 3 times a day as some labels recommend that's 24 grams carbs! Look for Benefiber, available in any drugstore. It's odorless, tasteless and dissolves easily in anything like tea or soup, etc. I've used this fiber and really like it. And it only has 1 net gram carb per tb.!

Another bulk product that contains no sugar is Konsyl. I found it at Wal-MArt right next to the Metamucil. It's a little expensive but worth it. I can't stand mixing it in water so I sprinkle it on my salad at night. Works like a charm. Renee 1/19/04 261/250/160
