Hey, Zany Zonies, what's new? It's been a while since any of us checked in here, although I know we're still out there doing our thing.

I've been semi under the weather, *and* DH has been home this week on "vacation".....vacation for him, lol, but more work for me....

How's everyone else?

Hi, ladies! I'm still here. I was at the beach for a couple of days, and I came home to find these big changes on our little board. It was a bit of a surprise. So far, I think that I like this new format for the boards.

Good to be back!

Hi Beth! See what happens when you take a vacation? Well, it was scary there for a while, but Andrea pulled it off. Nice to hear from you. Hope some of our other buddies will show up soon...

My Goodness...things are different!!

Change is good; don't want to get too used to the old ways, right??

My life has been very good lately. I'm just enjoying things and really trying not to stress so much about food.

I'm grateful that Andrea didn't give up...poor thing!! Success can be a challange!!

Nice to get back to Zone talking...missed everyone!

I'll check back soon and see who else shows up!!

Thanks for being here Brenda! Hope you're feeling well!!

Connie!! Didn't recognize your new name. Good to hear from you.

And thanks for the kind thoughts. I woke up this morning feeling better and more energized that I have in weeks. I have NO idea what's going on but I love it--feels like the old (lol) me again. Crossing my fingers it lasts.

Connie, are your girls back in school?

I'm happy you are better today! Maybe it was some virus or something...enjoy the energy!

Yep, DD's are back to the grind...soph and jr this year. Both are active in ASB this trimester; they don't have a fall sport...waterpolo starts in Nov. Both are happy with their classes and have been working hard already.

You wouldn't beleive my tomatoes...OMG! I can't eat enough...orange, yellow and plain ole red...very fun this year!
Looking forward to the apple season! Oh I love fall!
We have indian summers here...it won't get cold til Jan...or so.

How is everyone else doing??

Hey, Blockheads!

It's almost Friday!

I'm getting used to the new boards. I'm having fun trying new things out.

Can't say that I'm following the plan as scheduled. I just don't seem to have time to eat during the day. No lunch break. I'm still trying to Zone things though, and I don't feel bad. I eat in the evening basically. I'm also losing some, too.

How's the rest of the gang?

Hi guys.

Beth, great that you are losing. Sorry about not having time for lunch tho. But I remember years of doing the very same thing myself, and not being hungry at all during the day. Go figure....

The weather here is finally taking a turn for the better--less humid. So the migraine/sinus thing has really improved. How is yours, Beth? I know it's still hot there.

Connie, I know you are busy as usual. I know what you mean about tomatoes. I only had 4 plants, and I'm giving them away in buckets to the neighbors. We have German tomato salad almost every nite with supper....We also got some heirloom tomatoes in our CSA delivery--two of them were gigantic yellow ones, perhaps like yours. I've also got a crop of mesclun greens I'm picking that I just sowed about a month ago. Incredibly good!! I'm going to do an early crop next year, too, now that I know how easily they come up..

I'm getting better with my eating, too, now that I'm feeling better. It's been hard to think about the best choices.

Beth, I think this board has a lot of nice features, too. The only thing that bums me out so far is that I can get my spellchecker (ieSpell) to work with it like it did the other board. I'll have to slow down my fingers a little....

Hey, Susan, have you found us yet??

TGIF!!!

I LOVE weekends! Don't you?

Brenda - The sinuses are much better. I'm still having to take some prescription stuff to keep the allergies at bay. And, yes, it's still here. But it's really nice in the evenings.

Have a good weekend everybody!

Hello from California!! I've missed chatting with you Zonies...things have slowed down in Zoneland since the switch, huh?

I pop on every couple days to catch up and lurk around the sight...thought I'd see if anyone was doin the same.

I just bought the Zone Perfect cookbook on Ebay...looking forward to recieving it. I like the portions and recipes for meals handy so I don't have to do so much work figuring...

Been curious about the South Beach plan...I'd like to read that book...

We have been happily and steadily staying the course around our house...DD1 has been having good results, slow but steady...I pray she continues to succeed!!

I'm playing lots of tennis these days. Having too much fun! I need to tend to my garden...tear out the old beans and clean it up...maybe plant some lettuce or something.

Hope you are all well, and getting good results with food!
Hope to hear from you soon, Connie

Wow! What a difference a week or so makes.
Hey guys! Sorry I have not posted lately. I have been eating bad again and guess I feel ashamed to show my face when that happens.
We made it through the flood and have beautiful new floors to show for it. They are a medium cherry wood Pergo and so gorgeous. The flood was tough but the floors are great.
I have been very busy at work and at home so I have not been checking in. This place is so different. I have to check it out more but still wow.
On the eating deal I think being in a hotel for three weeks made it very difficult to eat right so I got way off track. I am going to start trying to get back into the Zone soon. Very soon.I have resumed my slow burn workout though. Never give that up cus I love it too much. I have been trying to get pregnant the last few months without sucess but I will continue to try. I need to be in the Zone for that since I am diabetic of course.
I hope everyone is doing well. And don't worry if you don't hear from me often it just mean my work is way too busy for me to surf.
Take care everyone!

Hi Susan, so glad you found us again. Your new floor sounds great. Glad you've recovered from the flood and can move on now.

I know you are busy now at work, but we love to hear from you whenever you can manage it. And hey, best of luck while you are "trying" Enjoy, too!!

Connie, someone on a Zone forum said it was their opinion that the South Beach diet was very Zonelike, but without all the thinking, lol! I really don't know, but I'm all for any lower carb plan that helps. Glad you are enjoying your tennis. That's a great way to enjoy the California sunshine.

Ooh! I like the idea of a Zone-like plan that is a no-brainer. Maybe I should read up on SB.

I am not doing too well in my stick-to-it-ness of the Zone or any other LC plan lately. I'm losing due to damn near starvation; not on purpose, just no time to eat. I understand that what I'm doing is basically the Warrior Diet. It works, but I'm concerned about how bad it probably is for me. I guess there's no true way to Zone if you go as long as I do without food. I don't seem to be suffering though. I'm really not hungry most of the day. I usually eat dinner by 5:00 to avoid that. This also keeps me from eating to late.

Exercise is missing as well. However, I joined in on our staff wellness program at work and now am committed to wearing a pedomter. The challenge is to get in 10,000 steps a day. I easily do that before 4:00 every afternoon. Guess I'm more active than I realize.

Good to see that the rest of you seem to be doing pretty well. Have a good and restful weekend

LOL, I like no brainers, too. Trouble is, I always gain when I stop thinking.

Hey, I am concerned about your not being able to find time to eat--although I did the exact same thing in school. In your case, maybe a Zone or balance bar in your bag would help? But yes, walking the campus and all that does burn more calories than you'd think. Plus the calories the brain burns

We've had a tad of rain here, and need much more needed. Yards look very sad, indeed, but we are limited on the times and amounts we can water, and so I save that for the deck garden, and the newer plantings....
