Smile Checking In ~ June 7-13

Alright Ladies... where are all of you? I can't believe I'm the one starting this thread. That's okay though. Hope you all are doing well. Missing you and wondering how everyone's doing.

Karen, had to add my coffee back in... just couldn't hack it. I could not function like a normal human being until early to late afternoon. Not acceptable with all I need to get done in a day. But, did cut back and only have one big mug now.

I had a good week last week. Won't post stats. You can read my journal if you want. Anyway, right now I'm real happy w/Atkins. It seems to be going easier this time... what I mean by that is I'm having an easier time with fixing meals for my family for some reason. Not really sure why, so I'm just going to enjoy it and not question.

Hope to hear from you all soon. Have a great week!

Hi Debby,
I haven't posted because I had no success to post and I was tired of just saying I stayed the same. But this morning, I was DOWN 1 POUND! That puts me at 199, below the magic 200 barrier. Doing the happy dance!! :jump: I don't even remember the last time I was able to post a loss. I am especially proud of myself since my family has been away since last Friday and I've been at home alone. In that past, that would have meant meant a week-long carb and sugar fest that would just feed and fuel my carb cravings. But I've been able to stay on plan with no problem. That just proves once more the value of this woe.

Karen, Amy, how are you doing?

Hi girls - I'm here, just busy with work. I'm doing ok. I had 2 weeks of great losses, then memorial day weekend I ballooned up 8 lbs without cheating. I don't know why, but I stuck with it, and am almost back to my lowest weight. I hate it when that happens. I don't cheat, that's the thing! Maybe not enough water, I don't know.

Debby, I did take a minute to read your journal the other day. You're doing really well, I'm glad it's going better this time for you You've gotta do what's best for you.

Laly, congrats on the loss! Don't you just love to see that lower number !!

Keep up the good work!
Karen

Hey, I'm still around. Not much to say though. I am currently at 128, pretty much just maintaining. I started lifting wieghts so I have thrown in a protien shake right before lifting, even though it's a little off plan. I say a little because I only have 1 CM and 1RM everyday, so that would be a snack or CM, even though it's not on the list. I will let you all know how it goes though.

Amy, glad you're still around. You might be losing inches even though your weight isn't going anywhere since you just started lifting weights. Also, is the shake one you bought or a homemade one? The EAS shakes could actually be considered on-plan since the total carbs is under 4 per serving (my strawberry ones are 3g each-and that's total carbs which is what CAD uses). Also, how's the quitting smoking going? Just curious because I care.

The smoking thing is tough but I'm still staying away. It gets harder each time I quit. I am using the Keto shake (8,eeech, but almost out) right now, but I will be getting the EAS one when I run out. Can I get that from Walmart?

Sunday I have a bridal shower and my grandma's birthday, so there will be lots of cake and temptations, but I will try to stay strong.

Oh, and I do greatly appreciate when people care. Hope you are having a good day.

Well thinking about it for those few minutes, I am going to get the EAS shake today and get rid of the Keto, why push it?

Amy,

Good for you for staying away. I cannot imagine what it is like. I've heard it's a very hard thing to do... but you are worth it! I will pray for you for strength and perseverance in quitting smoking. You will be so glad you did. My dad has emphysema, and I just hate to see anyone I care about smoke.

As for the EAS shakes, I'm pretty sure you can get them at Walmart. I know you can get them at Sam's too, but only the chocolate flavor (and of course you have to buy a bunch).

Best wishes to you in all that you are trying to accomplish.

Hugs,
Debby

Good for you, Amy, for not smoking. My FIL is completely debilitated from emphysema and it's not a pretty sight. He used to be quite active, a farmer, and can now barely walk from his bed to the chair in front of the TV because he has no lung capacity. You don't want to end up like that! You have too many people who care about you, and most importantly, you care about yourself. Stick with it and you'll be forever glad you did.

We're rooting for you :jumpgreen Keep us posted.
