| Louloo, I hope everything turns out fine for you. I HATE those MRI machines. I had to have one a couple of years ago for my neck. At first I thought I'd be ok, then I totally freaked. They had to get my son to come in and stand at my feet and talk to me while they were doing the whole thing. It was so embarrassing but having my son pat my leg and talk to me during the quiet moments was so helpful. I'm doing a schwarzbein/paleo sort of thing. I have to be off wheat and corn anyway so that helps stay off the man-made carbs she speaks against. I don't do dairy, except occasional cheese, so that leaves the naturally occuring fruits, vegetables, and then the meat. I find that some days I just do NOT want to write down all the carbs and all, that's when I make sure everything is real food like the paleo type diet, and I do really well that way. I'm not going to weigh for a while. I've been exercising and know that can cause a gain. I'm going by measurements, clothes fitting, and the full length mirror at the end of my hallway! Angel |

| Hello Angel, Yes I can quite see why having your son there helped to keep you calm. I tried breathing the yoga way and it was only this that stopped me pulling myself out, ha-ha. It is awful and I still have another one to go when I have had my back operation. It seems you have found a good way of combining Paleo and SP....and it is working for you, that's great. I am trying to make myself put the scales away so that I can't keep jumping on them, but it is hard. I think that I will ask hubby to put them up in the loft and then I can't do this. I have also been going by my clothes and the mirror and it is really a much better way to judge how we are doing. I am still not following any particular plan but I have really fallen in love with SP. This is the 2nd time that I have read it and it is amazing how much more I am picking up this time around. I am not hurrying, I want to finish every word then try and make myself some menus that I can live with. If you have followed any of the Paleo messages then you probably know that I am a very finicky eater, so I have to be able to have the dairy and maybe some cheese or it won't work for me. I am still afraid to believe what she says, that fat is good for you. It is a hard thing to go against all the teaching's that we were brought up with, isn't it? But I am getting there and I am definitely going to give it a go. Good luck Angel and I hope to speak with you again. love Louloo. x |

| I could not do lc if it weren't for the fat! I'm finally, after years of low fat, not afraid of fat!! It keeps me full and satisfied. I feel more healthy with it, my hair is healthier, my skin looks great. My dr. questioned my age in my chart and said he was thinking I was in my 30's! I do look younger now than when I low fatted (low fatted?). My blood lipid profiles are very good, dropped 60 points switching from lf to lc! I am going to read the book again too. I get to reading it then something comes up and interrupts me and then I speed read and lose information. I bought my mom a copy and she's reading it now too. I'm a picky eater too. My problem is I don't really care for too many protein foods. I do eat cheese, which goes against BOTH plans but it's one food I will eat and I feel good eating it. Angel |

| Welcome back Kelli, I hope that you are starting to feel much better...any idea what it was? I too am hoping to start SP on Monday. I haven't been able to put the book down, it all makes so much sense this time around.......good luck on Monday we will have to support one another. Hi Angel, If it wasn't for the fat I too would struggle on LC. It is still scary to go against all the advice given for LF, but this time I am going to do it. All the reports from people who do it can't be wrong. Meat is my problem but I am going to make sure that I eat it this time around and I will have to have some cheese as my FAT intake too, ha-ha. Good luck to all of us. love Louloo. x

| Hi if anyone is still doing Schwarzbein, I weigh in tomorrow and I don't think that I will have lost any weight, but I won't have put any on either, so that is a good start. We were told that we might gain in the beginning but that we should start to see results. I am really feeling better in myself. The IBS has not been nearly as bad as usual. I am eating some high fibre bread and ? jacket potato now and then..... trying to stick with the good carbs as stated in SP. How are you all getting on......any improvement at all? I have been reading the post about watching your calories, but that goes against everthing that is advised in SP. She says that you are not to reduce calories and I am listening to her this time around.....all her stories can't be wrong, can they? Take care, love Louloo. x

| I weighed in today and lost 1 pound and 3 inches overall and I feel good, so something must be working and I am eating lots of butter as she says in SP, so I will stay with this it seems to suit me........not much of a weight loss, but most people put it on in the beginning on Schwarzbein, don't they? Bye for now, love Louloo. PS why do I always seem to pick a board with no activity? LOL

| Hi Louloo, Congrats on the 3 inches loss. I've been ill the past few weeks and haven't been on the computer much. As for the activity on this board, I think its because for most LC-ers, SP plan allows for more carbs than most plan and people find it difficult to lose. So there may not be a lot of interest. Although, I know SP plan is right for me. I'll be back. Hang in there louloo. |

| Hi, Louloo and Kelli, I'm reading your adventures with interest. Congratulations on your loss, Louloo. It's really good to hear that your IBS is better - I know how miserable that can be. I'm not really "doing" Schwarzbein, but am leaning that way. I'm eating more veggies and fruit and my carb count is higher than before. I'm waiting to see what happens with my weight. I need to get the second Schwarzbein book. After my flirtation with dairy foods last month, I know that I need to stay off them if I want to feel my best. So, I'm looking to combine paleo with some of Schwarzbein's ideas. Hope you're better, Kelli. Talk to you guys again soon. Alice

| Hi Alice, Nice to hear that you are still around. At the moment I am happy to stay with SP. I need the healing that she teaches and I am beginning to feel better, even with the higher carb intake. I think that she has a point when she says that we sometimes reduce our carbs too much.......I also agree with her about not counting calories because you can cut them too low and you are back to square one again, before we all started low carbing..........you should have no need to count calories on this WOE. It's a pity that you don't like the dairy.....or rather, the dairy doesn't like you, ha-ha. Luckily for me I can take it and it keeps me feeling full for longer. The second book is not as interesting as the first in my opinion.....at least, it is more technicle, so a bit boring, but I am over half way through and am now getting to the nitty gritty of the SP WOE. Take care and pop in now and then so that we can have a chat. love Louloo. x

| It has been a while since any of you posted. I was wondering how you all are doing on SP? I'm looking into it because of my adrenal issues. Hope you are all well and busy, and thus the inactivity... |

| Hi Sharron. I've lost some weight on it so far, not a lot though, only 7 pounds. I was hoping to lose faster than this but at least I'm feeling good again. I now have more energy to do fun things with my family. We've been gone most of the month of August and since getting back, I've been really focused on getting the house in order for fall and getting back into the homeschool routine. The internet has been neglected I'm afraid! I hope this plan works well for you! Angel |

| Angel, did you decide to do it because of adrenal issues? I've not yet gotten the book(s), but I'm aware that is a big thrust, at least in her 2nd book. I'm a homeschooler too ![]() |

| Hi Sharron! I did it because of obesity and diabetes in the family. I wanted to lose weight and get/my blood sugar in line. I'm struggling here lately but still doing ok. I preferred her first book, the second one had a lot of information but basically the same plan. That's wonderful that you're homeschooling too! My son decided to join a football team that is 80 miles away, they practice or have games 3-4 days per week so I'm on the road and not the computer much. I'll keep checking in though! Too bad there's not an sp thread on it's own, I wonder if that would bring more people in rather than trying to find in here? anyway.... Angel |
