Talking Even halfway around the world...

It's amazing what you people do for me.

I am in the northern island of Hokkaido (for two weeks) in the city of Sapporo studying Japanese. I'm staying in a boarding house that has minimal kitchen appliances, but I'm cooking my chicken in the microwave, eating copious amounts of green beans and bell peppers, and trying like hell not to cheat. My problems come in with convenience foods. I am eating too many nuts and cheese - I know it. Today, I was hot and tired and hungry and cranky, and I was thinking, "Oh crap, what's the use? I'll just gorge myself on sugar and screw up the 19lbs I've worked so hard to lose."

Then I signed in here.

And it is truly amazing what this community of people does to me - you keep me going! You keep me strong. You keep me from giving up.

So thanks again, gang! Your encouragement, success stories and pictures are what keep me going. Don't stop!

To everyone's health and success!

Good for you! You're doing great.

Don't worry about the nuts and cheese, that's still a far better thing than what you could be eating!

Take it easy on yourself! Like Marcie said, you could be eating things that are completely off plan.

Isn't LCE awesome, it's been my lifeline for quite some time now. The doors are open 24/7, too!

It's true: it's so much easier to get forgiveness than permission! So anytime anyone feels like going off plan, we should get on this site and ask permission! Then, everyone will talk us out of it, and we'll be stronger and better able to resist next time.

I was reading a....I think Ladies Home Journal...Tuesday evening while waiting for my daughter at Gymnastics. There was an article in there about things you can do to help in your weigh loss efforts. One of them was: FIND AN ONLINE SUPPORT GROUP! They went on to say that you should check in frequently and participate in the chat sessions, discussions, and challenges. Works for us, right?

J-girl, I'm glad we can be your friends and be close to you online since you are so far away! Hang in there....you'll make it!

J-girl..............I KNOW I wouldn't have gotten as far as I have without the great friends and support I've gotten here. We're all in this together, ya know? Whether you are in Japan, Canada, Ireland, the US, Scottland or wherever, it's nice to know this place is here 24-7. Hang in there girl, you're doin' great in spite of dire kitchen circumstances!!!!!

I agree, don't sweat the cheese and nuts.
