| You can't eat too many veggies. . .no one ever got fat eating veggies. You should be getting at least half your carbs form veggies--I shoot for about 25gs a day from veggies and fruit! I started on the 5th of Jan.

| Welcome, Magoo. I understand why you chose to do an extended induction, but you are really missing out on the benefits of increasing your vegetable intake. There are many wonderful phytonutrients you could be having ... not to mention that increasing one's carb count (with veggies, nuts & lc fruits) has proven to be a stall buster for many people. Please make yourself at home!

| Oh, yes - you should certainly increase your veggies. Just choose lower carb veggies like, brocolli, celery, spinach, cauliflower, zucchini, summer squash, green beans, greens, etc. Veggies to enjoy in moderation include carrots, bell pepper, tomatoes, jicama. Veggies to limit or avoid include starchy squashes, potatoes, peas, beans, etc.

| Huh? Never heard of too many veggies! lol! I personally do not limit my veggie intake at all! I began by gradually adding more after induction, but, as huskersfan said, I realized that the veggies are not what made me gain the weight in the first place! I stick to "legal" veggies for the most part, but on rare occasions, I eat a SMALL portion of potato or corn. I absolutely do not even count the carbs for the good stuff, like green beans or broccoli. I suggest you check out the 5-a-day challenge for more info! btw, have you tried the "faux-tato's" yet? they are my new favorite thing to eat! I mean, I still love a good steak, but I am re-discovering how good veggies are, and how many ways there are to enjoy them! jmho :-) |

| I totally agree with everyone, im finding myself loving veggies that i hated in the past, like spinach, raw broccoli and the one thing i hated most that i eat now is cauliflower. Veggies are the real deal, so eat up, your body will definetly thank you for it.

| I personally do not think veggie intake should be low. I count some carbs for my veggies I eat, but never all of them. I get my fill with them. Sometimes at lunch, I only eat veggies and string cheese. And there are soo many ways you can cook your veggies. Ever thought of making a casserole with them? It's great. You use whatever low carb veggies you want. I use eggplant, zucchini, tomatoes, bell peppers etc. I just layer them with olive oil and parmesan cheese on top. A little salt and pepper also. It's great. Wonderful variety in there too. Raw veggies make a great snack with a dip too. I like strawberries with whipping cream and splenda. I even should be eating more veggies myself. I don't get enough. 278/260/125? |
