not equal a whoosh or weight loss!
So often people on this WOE people get frustrated with a stall or a slow lose. It's understandable. You count your carbs, watch your portions, exercise and your scale is on strike, it just won't move.
(Personally, I have found the best way to get your scale to move is to toss it out the window!)
I am presently ending my 6th week on Atkins.
I have lost 20 pounds, which averages out to 3 plus pounds a week (not too shabby!)
This week however, I'm ill and on antibiotics.
Now, you all know how wonderful Amoxicillin makes you feel.
*bleeeeeeeech*
So as a result my carbs have been SUPER low this week. Heck, yesterday I barely made 10 carbs!!!!
And what do my eyes behold upon stepping on the scale this morning???
ZIP, ZILCH, NADA
not a budge, not a glimmer, not even a vauge hint of a lose.
(This is as I expected, but do I get a gold star for NOT taking the .45 to the scale????)
Even when healthy, if your carbs are too low, your body will go into survival mode and hang on to weight and water.
If your are in induction, leaving induction & moving into OWL, or if you are in OWL, and wondering if lower then 20 carbs a day is a good idea . . the answer is no!!! You need good healthy carbs to lose. Cutting back only leaves you hungry and unhappy. Instead of losing weight, you'll just be setting yourself up for a "pity party carb binge". And we all know where that leads!!!
So grab some veggies and fruit and be patient . . . you will LOSE!!!
*I may not have lost all I wanted when I wanted, but I can see my toes!*
