| hey everyone, i'm back on induction (again!) just starting day 4. i've been doin really well, i thought... I havent been going over 20 grams of carbs, but, the only 2 veg we have at the mo is spinach (sorry, not for me, i cant stand it!) and fine green beans, which i love. i have noticed that green beans are not listed in the book as acceptable induction foods, but for the last two days i have had one serving with my meal at night, and my ketostix are purple (wayhey) what does everyone think, can i safely keep eating them? also i have been having small portions of gravy (bisto, 2.0g carbs per serving, but does contain flour) does anyone think that could slow me down? (oh yeah water is up to 4-6pints a day and coffee is out the window) love to hear fom ya,

| Greenbeans are fine, in my opinion. Flour is not, in whatever form. Which plan are you following?

| What April Said! How bad did you stray that you feel the need to reinduct? Sometimes only a few days to a week can be enough to achieve the purpose of induction (to deplete your glycogen stores). If you don't have any veggies you like on hand then have an extra salad or two, if you have those around. If not you need to shop. LOL Good luck! Oh and good going on the coffee. I've failed at dropping coffee more times than I can count. |

| Hi, Munch. As I recall you're following the Atkins plan, and green beans are fine for induction. If you check the list of "other vegetables" in the induction chapter, you'll see that a cup of "string or wax beans" is fine. String beans & green beans are the same thing.

| thanx every1, i literally jumped off the wagon about 5 months ago, but the time is ripe for another go, and things are definitely better this time, i made my mum read the book, and so i now have her support, oh and i have a ?50 bet with my dad that i'll lose more than he does on his lo-fat diet, good luck to him, he needs it!!! well the gravy's joining the coffee out the window, and i think the scales can go too. thanx again munch xx

| Well congrats on getting back on your plan! I eat green beans often and it has never had a bad effect on me. Green beans are allowed on Atkins. |

| I eat green beans almost every day...i love them..i put parmesean cheese and garlic in them...oh yum! I have lost a total of 18 pounds in two and a half weeks...which for me is an excellent feat.....I honestly dont like low carb.... but with my previous experience and lack of results, i was told to try it..by my doctor. So far the results keep me happy...but i do not like meat that much..so i binge on the veggies.... |
