Default I have a dilemma!!

I successfully "low carb'd" from December (through Christmas mind you) through March...I lost 35 lbs and I've been semi lowcarbing since then. I can NOT to save my life get back on track! I went back religiously for a week to induction and I didn't loose anything so I went back to semi low carbing. I don't really eat any bad carbs until Friday, saturday and sunday. And during the week I probably don't eat enough carbs! I've never gone past induction because when I tried to up my carbs by 5, i went too far past 5 and that's when the disaster happened. I won't allow myself my FAVORITE low carb salad until I can get back on track (tuna salad w/ strawberries and cinnamon roasted walnuts) The weight I'm at now is my high school weight and what I have always been comfortable with. BUT I want to loose 20 more pounds. I think I've screwed up my body with all the semi carbing! HELP!!!

It takes 1 step at a time. I sugest reading your plan of choice book and starting w/ maby a few days of induction and then slowly upping your carbs.. do not take weeknds off that is what will damadge you the most... you can go out to eat w/ out eating out of plan.. its easier than we think..
throw things away that cause you to cheat dont buy things ect. its all in will power.. if you want to... yo can.. this is more than just a diet.. it is a wol... it takes dedication and determination.! you can do it!

Thanks! I think I will read the book again. That's a great suggestion. I just have to go hijack it back from the person who's not even following the plan! Believe you me I don't intentionally take the weekends off...it's just been happening somehow...they should outlaw weekends. Oh never mind that won't work I'd be teaching 7 days a week! Speaking of which HOW in the world do you get 128 oz of water being a teacher?? I can only go to the bathroom between 8:54 and 11:03! I get off at 2:15. I used to get at least 64 oz before I left work at my old job and left the rest to home...

There are others here on this board who have the same time issue. What I recall them doing is downing as much as they can in the morning when still at home and then catching up later in the day after work.

Needless to say, just do the best you can with the water. Chugging extra on the weekends really helps!

I start with 32 before I leave home, finish another 20-30 between 8:20 and 11:15 and another 20 or so after school. Then I drink another 32 in the evening. I teach PE and get to go to the bathroom before 8:20, between 11:15 and 11:45 and after 2:35. It works for me--my body is used to it and I have a hard time going any other times of the day except evening--I live in the bathroom from 4:00 to bedtime!

The water thing can be worked around. Nobody ever said you had to drink it all in the morning, or even when you are at school. Just drink 32oz in the morning, then have some during your break. Wait till you get home to drink the rest. It is a good idea though, to always have some in the morning when you get up. Semi low carbing is better then high carbing. You've been doing better for yourself by doing that, then by giving up all together. It keeps you from gaining usually, but it won't make you lose. If you want to lose, you probably need to get back on your plan full force. Remember that you are the only one that is in control of what you put in your mouth. You say you don't intentionally take weekends off your plan, but you do eat what you choose. You must commit to eating on your plan on the weekends too or you will get your body out of wack, and not get results either. To keep from going over when you choose you up your carbs, do not add new foods at first. Just add in bigger portions of veggies. It's a learning process. If you can learn to eat 20 carbs a day, you can learn to eat 25. Good Luck.

I would like to suggest that consuming very low carbs Monday through Friday and then eating a bunch of carbs on the weekend is a very bad thing to do, metabolically. You are constantly trying to switch your body between a carbohydrate burning metabolism and a fat burning one. Every weekend, you replenish all your glycogen stores and then Monday start trying to empty them out. That's pretty stressful. The other stressful element to consider are the swings in your blood glucose levels, from minimal on weekdays to higher on the weekends.

Just something to consider.

I KNOW!!!!! *nodding head in agreement too* to what everyone said but especailly Maggie (LOVE the picture by the way) I keep telling myself that there's no way that can be good switching back and forth like that. I think I feel like I'll never be able to lose again even if I started again because I've screwed up my metabolism and I'm going to stall for 1,000 years because I yo-yo'd. I guess it is a good thing I haven't completely stopped. Although I wish it were as easy to get back on as it was the first time to get on. I still can't believe that I did it during Christmas. PERFECTLY. and I can't even get anything but a leg on board! I love you guys I really do! I love this wol because of all the wonderful vegetables I have discovered. CAULIFLOWER. And I think I can feel the carbs (the bad ones) attacking me. I don't know why people are insistent that this is not a good WOL. Why would eating vegetables NOT be good. I know that those plantains and plantain chips were NOT supposed to be eaten. But I really do love plantains...ANYHOW I also think that because I don't have my boyfriend saying aren't you not supposed to eat that because I told him that I can cheat when I want to...yeah I know...he doesn't harrass me about it anymore. So I guess that's another thing I have to do is get him to get back on me about those carbs...day by day.. Yesterday I did really well w/ the exception of that butter pecan carb limit ice creeeeam. Only one serving though. The rest is gone today. an after school snack for my 6 year old. He'll appreciate that. Thanks again guys! And thanks for all of the great water tips!

Here's how I get all my water in....I chug 20-30 ounces with every meal, then if I don't get a chance to drink the rest of my 136 oz while watching tv at night or doing chores. I have a water bottle that has the oz's on it so I can keep track of what I'm taking in.
