| Thanks, Andrea, for posting it - I hope the story helps others stick to their guns! And thanks to everyone who posted a nice comment. We do it for ourselves, but it's so encouraging to have support from others who can relate. It's sort of funny, the "before" picture. . . I loved those yellow pants! And I JUST gave that cardigan to the women's shelter secondhand store. Which is also my fave place to shop, by the way. Nothing like a fifty cent pair of jeans! Thanks again, to everyone. This site is the best thing since sliced LC bread! Stacie |

| Wow Stacie, Congratulations! You are my hero! Is there a link at all where I could learn about what type of exercise you do, and what a typical meal looks like for you? I need to lose about 65 pounds. Thanks so much, and again CONGRATULATIONS!!!

| Stephy, I'm afraid I don't have any info for you to look at, but I'll tell you what I do as best I can. 3 or 4 days a week I do yoga in my living room - I have either the Dummies or Idiots book, and a set of pose cards that helps with the sequence. I also do lots of your basic pushups and situps. I have one of those delightful jobs in retail where I'm on my feet and running around 8 hours a day, too. As far as eating goes, Broccoli Rules! I eat the usual stuff, eggs, cheese, assorted meats, fresh and packaged. Salad I love, with a scoop of chicken salad on top instead of dressing. My biggest hurdles were learning how it felt to be hungry, and satisfied instead of full, and getting over my fear of dietary fat. I think at this point it's more a matter of what I DON'T eat. No potatoes, rice, regular bread, sugar, you know, the White Death food group. Sorry if I'm not much help. . . I'm not doing anything special, just being an Atkid. Dr. A's book is where I started, and you go along and learn, and stumble, and tweak. But DO read the book for the plan of your choice, and then read it again, and keep it handy to refer to. To reach your destination, you need excellent directions, after all! Stacie Last edited by sdanorth; 08-26-2004 at 03:12 AM. |
