| I have been drinking the C2 coke on days i can 'afford' it. I LOVE it. The pepsi edge is ....YUCK! But to go no carb and have a tastey drink.,...I will take diet pepsi and put atkins cherry syrup in it...tastes like cherry pepsi! GOOD and no carbs...but i am a water retainer..So i have to minimize the soda consumption as it has sodium... but as a treat...it is worth it once in a while! |

| Hi ladybug Just want to give people a heads up about Coke C2. I believe it has about 19 or 20 grams of carbohydrate and contains aspartame and HFCS. Most low carbers on this site would avoid it for any one of these reasons. All 3 make it a no go for almost all of us. Are you following a Cad/Calp diet? That's the only way I can see you getting away with drinking C2. |

| I agree with Rob - if you can, switch to diet sodas - they have no carbs.

| Yikes! Which plan are you following??? Even if you are doing CAD/CALP, I don't think ingesting that much sugar in one sitting is a good idea. Sugar sends a huge signal to your body to release insulin which will store EVERY calorie of it as fat! Not to mention the aspartame seems to stall most of us here... I have to agree with Rob here; You might really want to rethink this... How much do you have to lose? If it's not much, then perhaps you can afford it. But if you are looking at a long weight-loss journey ahead, it's best to dump the sugar habit now. If you are just *dying* for a carbonated treat (and boy, can I sympathize!), why don't you try a Diet Rite? They are sugar-free and sweetened with Splenda. Even better: add a bit of heavy cream to your Diet Rite for a low-carb *coke float*. Yum! :fork: HTH,

| I would never recommend this drink to anyone unless you can afford the extra carbs every once in awhile...I just don't like drinks that are sweetened with HFCS...I've been told that this drink along with Pepsi Edge were made more for people who don't like diet but don't like their drinks too sweet nor too calorie dense...a middle of the road type drink, I suppose... I like the idea of the Diet Rite with cream...that sounds delicious! I'll have to try that! Sheyla 186/119/105 |

| I don't like diet drinks, they taste like cr_p to me, I have even gotten the diet rite, and there is something that gives them an aftertaste.... maybe too much splenda, maybenot enough flavor - the white grape, oboy I almost have to choke it down....I have been drinking my water, and occassionally I will get some crystal lite drink mixes and have some of that... its isn't too bad. I have gotten the new C2 cokes and really like them... no aftertast, no bad flavor... tastes like coke....I was drinking one a week or so, then realized that that was too much... I havn'thad one in 14 days (trying to be real good again) and sort of miss them, but not enough to stop and get one. I did find something this summer that was wonderful... I walked into a 7-11 and wanted something icy and cold and they had crystal lite slurpies--- in orange/pineapple.... what a treat.... no sugar... icy, and flavorful....

| I tried one of those Crystal Lite Orange/Pineapple slurpies and loved it! I just couldn't down the whole thing...so I learned that the next time I get one, I'll get a smaller size...it was a great, refreshing drink.... I guess I'm the opposite of you, Carolyn...I don't like sweet sodas all that much...so before I started this woe, it was a Big Mac Meal at McD;s with a diet coke...only 'cuz I didn't like the taste of regular coke...now if only they made candy bars the same way they made coke...there would never be a temptation for me to grab one... | Sheyla.... lol, I know what you mean, about those big slurpies.... I had to go for a smaller one myself.... Iguess that is the problem... always liked the sugary taste of sodas, candy, etc. al.... give me sugar.... no not any more... but I just could never get into the "fake" diet flavor most of the diet sodas have.... c

| I know Diet A&W Rootbeer has Nutrasweet (aspartame) in it, so I only do this occasionally. Like only 3 times all summer. I buy Keto brand ice cream, Vanilla Moon flavor and pour some diet A&W Rootbeer over it for a root beer float. It is delicious and feels like a HUGE cheat! Just a note: Crystal Light Powder drink mixes all contain aspartame. The ready-to-drink bottles are sweetened with Splenda. Interesting.....and true.

| Well I didn't say I drank it on a daily basis. ONCE IN A WHILE when I get the jonesing for COKE (my love of sodas) I will drink SOME (not all) C2. IT sure beats breaking down and eating chocolates etc and falling off the wagon. I also stated that I enjoy DIET pepsi with Atkins cherry syrup...It tastes like a regular cherry pepsi! I am not on CALP CAD...what ever that is. I am not really following a stringent plan per say.. I have lost 30 pounds doing something more similar to south beach only I cut the oils out. I cook low fat and low carb. I guess I focus more on veggies than i do meat. When i eat meat it is either turkey, shrimp or chicken. NEVER bovine! i do not use butters or cheeses either. i really love spinache and broccoli and green beans. And i have half an apple twice a week. sometimes I will have half a grape fruit..and i do love those crystal light drinks |

| Hi ladybug, I suppose an occasional C2 would be okay if you can afford the carbs. I personally won't touch the stuff since High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) is the first ingredient. I really do like 7up's new pop, 7up plus. I've only had one so far and it was good. I will do an occasional diet Rootbeer "float" once in awhile like Maxi, but I avoid it most of the time because of the aspertame. I will do the bottled Crystal Lite since it has splenda in it. I do Diet Rite cola and am getting used to the flavor. Mostly I try to drink water tho. Your Diet pepsi with Atkins cherry syrup is a good idea. Sounds delish. I use Davinci Raspberry syrup in colas too and my coffee along with some cocoa powder. Tastes like a black forest cake, YUM. What you listed as to what you eat sounds good. You might want to read the book from Atkins or Protein Power to help you along the way. It's good to have a roadmap. Coming here will also help you along your journey.

| Well I've NEVER tried the C2. I won't cos it has sugar. I will not even try the 7up plus cos it has 2 carbs per serving lol. I don't wanna waste my hard earned carbs on soda lol. I'd rather use my carbs for food. I do drink diet rite though. I like the cola flavor. I also like tangerine. I think raspberry tastes like cough syrup. White grape is not bad but I wouldn't buy them. I drink regular diet coke or pepsi on occasion. I am sensitive to aspartame though so I only drink it if I'm eating along with it. Aspartame tends to give me that low blood sugar feeling if I don't eat with it. I don't drink anything containing aspartame unless I eat out somewhere. I would not recommend coke c2. I suggest to you to try and find something without sugar, that you can live with. |

| I have read atkins diet revolution and i bought his carb counter book...and there is his other book which has recipes and is about OWL and maintanence....I also read Both South beach books. From the two, I gained the scientific knowledge...Now I am molding my own way...and have so far, done wonderfully...I exercise daily for an hour...plus walk the college hills....and chase after four young daughters.... |

| In this case, ladybug29, it looks like this is a YMMV (your mileage may vary). If it's working for you, then I don't think you need to change.
