i know a lot of folks get hungry around mid-morning. i sometimes do. i don't know if it's your exercise or just your body's natural cycle or what, but i don't think it matters all that much. you're learning to listen to you body for cues, and if it's hungry, feed it! for me, a big part of the joy of low-carbing is that you can eat when you're hungry until you're not hungry anymore. it just is so sensible!

I find that the more protein and fat I add to my breakfast, the longer it sticks to my ribs. So..........add some meat to your breakfast.........even leftover chicken. Diced chicken in an omelet is really good. I find that mock danish sticks to my ribs pretty long too. I think protein is the real key. Also, are you eating any snacks before going to bed? I find that if I eat within 2 hours of going to bed, I wake up FAMISHED the next morning. So I try not to eat before going to bed. Eating stimulates the Appetite stimulating Hormone. (I think carbs do the most stimulating.) so, it only stands to reason that I would wake up starving when I do that.

Barb, what you said is really interesting. I never really paid attention about snacking before going to bed... sometimes i actually do- a slice of cheese or a piece of meat. I need to watch this closer. And i will follow your advice and add some meet to breakfast- i love the way you say it, sticks to my ribs

I've found through much trial and error that my hunger naturally peaks earlier in the day. I usually have a hearty breakfast, sometimes a snack mid morning, a BIG lunch...and then my hunger tapers off. Sometimes I have a small afternoon snack and dinner isn't really a meal...it's a bigger snack! I wake up very early and also exercise in the AM, so I've finally realized that that's how my body wants to do it. The most important thing is to eat when you're hungry and stop when you've had enough. I think Barb and Goddess offered some great advice...good luck!

Nina - I find that a hot cup of chicken broth at night keeps me from snacking late into the evening. I make it myself do there are no carbs.
