Welcome, Juliana.

You're making great progress! But I wonder why you are not moving into OWL?

Hope you'll make yourself at home.

Welcome Juliana!

This is the best board for support and encouragement! You will find a wealth of information here.

Congratulations on your great weight loss! That is just fantastic . . . BUT . . . Maggie is right . . . 11 weeks on induction is a tad too long! Is there a reason you are still on induction?

Hi Maggie and KCTinter

Thanks by the warm welcome.

I have to confess. I?m afraid to eat more than 20g carbs/day.
I have been registering all I eat at Fitday and I?m confortable with this amount of carbs. Not hungry and no cravings for sugar too. And surprisinlly (sp?) I didn?t cheat anytime on this 11 wks!!! :jump:
I thought that if I stay on 20g carbs/day my weight loss will be faster.
I?m not sure but I read at Dr Atkins book that if you have more than 60 pd to burn you can stay on Induction. am I right??

Any comments and sugestions are welcome!

*sorry by my english, I?m a portuguese speaker :o

Hi, Juliana, and welcome! We're glad you're here!

You might want to read this thread; it's a discussion of the fear of adding carbs after induction. It might shed some light on the subject for you.
I know that the book says it's ok to stay at induction levels, but many of us here have found that it could cause you to eventually stop losing at a higher level. Besides, adding berries, whole grains and nuts makes eating easier and more fun, right? And, don't forget bigger portions of healthy veggies. It's all good, I think.
What it all comes down to is, do what works best for you, and is something you can live with in the long run. After all, this is a lifestyle change, not a temporary fix.
And, your English is just fine.

Hi Trina, thank you very much by the thread link!!
It?s amazind how I feel like so many others! Yeah, I?m panic to eat more carbs than allowed! I think it?s reflect many year of silly useless diets!
But I?m not sure about how to do this. Can I add 5g/day or is better 5g/twice week?
I?ll try to add 5g carbs/day and see what happens with my ketosticks! (They are very purple now).

So thank you guys so much.

Hugs
Juliana

Juliana, WELCOME!!!!

Actually what you are supposed to do is to add 5 grams more each WEEK. But you could probably up that a bit. I would start with adding more veggies, fruits like berries and nuts. If you stay at induction levels you MIGHT get really bored and fall off the LC wagon.

By The Way, your English is GREAT!!!!!!!!

Juilana,

Here's a thread that might give you some ideas about different ways to get your 5 gram increase:

Welcome Juliana! You have done marvelous with your weight loss!
Like you, I'm a little afraid of adding fruits and grains to my diet. I've not been counting carbs the last few weeks as I've been increasing my veggies. But I think I probably should do a little counting just to see where I am at and how far I can go and continue losing.

Oh, by the way, when Barb said 5 grams a week, I think she meant something like this:
Monday 25, Tues 25.....Saturday 25, Sunday 25
Monday 30, Tues 30....Saturday 30, Sunday 30
Monday 35, etc.

I'm going to go out and buy me a box of fresh berries today and see how that works out. I'll need to do a little more reading to find out how I can add grains and what type I should be adding.

Hi there Ju, welcome aboard and good luck on your future success. And ditto what everyone else is saying about adding those carbs, your body will do a happy dance for you, lol.

Hi guys

You all are so supportive, and its just I need now! Thank you!

I have been thinking about my daily menu, and I figure out that its OWL (I think so!) except by the 20g carbs/day. I have been doing a Induction with more veggies or something like this... ok, I?m confused right now!

I?ll put my basic menu here I listen (read) all you have to say about! :eyes:

Breakfast:

2-3 boiled, scrumbled (sp?) eggs
with 1 tbs of parmesan cheese (I?m trying to avoid salt)

Lunch: (my lunch have to be very quick cause my schedule)
4-5 Chiken wings, or 3 sausages (1g netcabs each)

Dinner:
Pork, or beef steack (sp?), or burger, or fish (6 or 7oz)
1 cup of: cale, or seacrest, or lettuce, or arugula
1-2 cups of veggies: eggplant, cauliflower, zucchini, jilo (a kind of brazilian eggplant - same netcarbs)
Sometimes I add some onions (1-2 oz) or tomatoes (1 - 1.5 medium) to make a sauce

Snacks:
1 -2 pasteurized cheese (1g netcarbs each), 2oz of mozzarela or 1 boiled egg, diet jello

I so worry about I eat than I use to weight the servings to know exactly what (and how much) I?m eating. I use fitday to counting carbs and with this menu my carb intake its around 18 - 20 - 21g/day.

I?m a little confused about what I can introduce in my menu to rise the carb intake untill 25g.

Any suggestions?

Hugs
