Well anyways my mom saw me today and said hey your face is getting smaller and she said congrats you are losing weight. I am so happy so I wanted to share.

It's one thing to have co-workers notice our weight loss. It's another for family to take notice...and say something positive.

My family is great, but there was very little said about my weight loss at Christmas. In fact, it was mostly chit-chat about my "diet." But I'll never forget the day when my father, who I love dearly, said to me: "What's happened to you. You used to take such good care of yourself and now you've just let yourself go." That was about 15 years ago. I instantly forgave him because I know that he would never say anything to deliberately hurt me. But I'll never forget those words because the were so very honest and so very, very true.

It truly is wonderful when family notices and says something! That "comment" that got me started thinking that I HAD to do something was by my grandfather...he poked me in the belly last year (2003) in the belly and said "You are looking mroe and more like your grandmother all the time." She died of a massive heart attack in 1992 at 62 or 63. Not very old at all...I have always looked like her, but was never as round until the last few years before I started Atkins...his noticing shocked me into realitya nd into action! I am so glad he was honest!

Yeah my dad picks on me about my wieght gain. I was in the Army and used to be athletic. Boy a baby changes everything. All my life I had been small but htese last few years have been hard. But I will lose this weight for me and not because everyone is teasing me.

The weird thing is: no one said ANYTHING to me. I gained 60 pounds in 2 years and my family never said a word.

What woke me up was looking at my wedding photos: I looked like I was in my 8th month of pregnancy! Yikes! I've been in the battle pretty much ever since!
