Default Atkins the second time around

Wow, first off I am so happy to have found this site! Obviously I am new here. I had success on Atkins about 3 months ago, then the holidays hit, and I just fell off the wagon, but what a nice fall it was, at the time. But I recently hopped back on the Atkins bandwagon this week, and it seems that I am having trouble sticking to induction. I am persevering, but it seems as though the carb cravings came back stronger then ever. Does anyone else have any experience in this? Or did this occur with anyone else?

Thank you, I am looking forward to contributing more, what a great support system!

Welcome, britneyfan.

We have a number of "re-starters", so I'm sure you'll get some input on this question.

Meantime, make yourself at home!

Yes, what you are experiencing is normal. When low carb is treated as an "off-again, on-again" way of eating, each time does get a wee bit harder. The holidays are tough for a lot of us. Just pick yourself up and keep going low carb. You said you had success in the beginning. That's wonderful! You know you can do this! Check the recipe section and look for some "legal" sweets to try to get you over the hump. I also take L-Glutamine to help me with cravings. Not an instant craving-blocker, but I think it helps. I have found that even too much Splenda will start the cravings, so I have scaled back on that too. Everybody is different.

Welcome to LCE! I hope you will visit often. Good luck!

ABSOLUTELY!
Oh, yes; I think the more times you *fall off*, the harder it is to *hop back on* each time. (Good reason to stay on, eh?)
Just keep doing what you're doing (persevering) and come here often for moral support.
If you are unsure about any of your menus, post them here for us to look at... and if you have any questions, just ask!
Oh, and WELCOME aboard!

Wow thanks, I am glad I am not to only one who is having this problem. I guess what gives me motivation is clearly seeing changes in my body, more curves, more of a waistline. It really sucks when you are Asian, all your other Asian friends are a size 2 and you are a size 14. But I know I can do it, it seems the after the first 3 days it gets easier. Thanks for the kind words and support!

BTW, can anyone tel me how to get one of those cute scale thingy's EVERYONE has? Thanks!

Britneyfan (I'm a closet fan myself...I know it's awful), welcome, this IS a great site.

I know when I have cheated in the last few months it defitely is harder to get back on track after going through it the first time. Stick with it, you'll do fine. If you can make it through a couple weeks it will be so much easier. But if you do falter then get right back on the plan.

I've learned in the last three weeks since I have been stalled that you just have to stick with it. I was doing great for four and a half months but hit a wall three weeks ago.

I know how it feels when all your friends are smaller than you but you do have a more unique situation that Asian girls do tend to be smaller (OK it's a stereotype but I do see you mentioned it is a problem for you), so your dealing with a whole other set of issues. Sorry about that. But I think with determination you'll do well and reach your goals.
