Net carbs, Dimpleface. ... as in Total Carbs minus Fiber.

Welcome! Which low carb eating plan are you following?

Just a little advice..... it might kick the headache.... make sure you are getting enough water. Because in the initial "flush" of carbs from the body, alot of water retention will go with it, and may leave your body slightly dehydrated if you are not drinking enough water. Typically around here, we go with the theory that you should drink ATLEAST 1/2 your body weight in ounces of water everyday. So if you weigh 200 lbs, you should be drinking 100 ounces of water.

Welcome to LCing and wishing you the best luck with a healthy and happy journey!

Definately make sure you are drinking enough water, as it does make a huge difference. I am also a newbie and have been on my induction period for four days also and lost five pounds this week which totally shocked me, but I am feeling happy that I am eating healthier and it will get easier. It is hard, but stick with it and you will be happy about your results. Drink the water!

Drink your water...but also know that as you go through the first week of induction if you were a carb eater of almost any sort...you will have some carb withdrawls that starts about the second day and often includes a headache and just an all over blah feeling...it usually lasts 4 or 5 days the whole first week at the outside most...but it is a necessary step to getting through the cravings and desires for sugars and carbs. You will feel much better after the first few days and often even have more energy than you had before.
