| when's the best time of the day to weigh yourself? right when you wake up? What will give me the most accurate reading. i figure it might be off if i eat something before i weigh myself. just wanna know what time of the day i can get an accurate reading...

| I have a little routine. I get up, hit the potty, then the scale. I do that before I eat or drink anything. Because I'm no longer young, I sometimes have to go to the bathroom before it's time to get out of bed. I've found that if I weigh myself then go back to bed and do the routine all over again, the scale can be lighter after the second visit. Weird, but true.

| Exactly, Melissa! We women will brush our teeth and our hair first thinking some stray plaque or loose hairs might make a difference in our reading! LOL!

| I have the same routine as Melissa. When I first roll out of bed I have to use the BR. Then I may wander around for a few minutes. Get the baby a drink. Then weight myself. Then you don't have the variations that happen throughout the day.

| morning best for me.. i only do it when i go to the doctors office so far.. but when i DO? i always make an EARLY appt... then before eating or drinking much of anything.. i have em weigh me.. (i wear the lightest clothes i have... USUALLY nylon jogging pants (no i dont jog) and a nylon top.. take off my shoes.. and VOILA! INSTANT grief..*L* |

| I just realized something.... Achilles is probably getting quite an education in women...especially us older ones...from this board. Maybe even more than he wanted to know. LOL And yes, Maxi is right. I usually brush my hair while sitting on the potty, then it's off to the scale minus those three or four stray hairs.

| Morning, after using the BR and before breakfast and yeah, breakfast can make you weigh more than you would have before eating it. I only weigh once a week, well actually twice...on the weekends...I may step on the darned thing during the week if I am noticing big changes in the way I feel or the way my pants feel...usually to the bad side of things, but clothes are my guage more than the scale anyway!

| well this morning i weighed myself right after i woke up (11:45am) and used the restroom. I was very surprised at what it said! On Monday (Jan. 31) I weighed 286.6, today when i weighed myself I weighed 282.6. That's exactly 4 pounds in less than a week! adn this is like my 5th week on atkins.
