| Hope everyone is along the track of their weight loss! I only have about 10 pounds or so to lose and for the past month ( due to work commitments making it impossible to do induction), I have just been cutting back on carbs ( eating around 40 per day) and have thus lost around 4 pounds which is great for me! I feel so much better as well. Now I want to do induction properly abd eat between 20-25 carbs per day, HOWEVER my main question is that if I get the majority of my carbs from veggies and salads, and eat my meat, is there anything wrong with eating nuts and say dairy (low carb yoghurt) in induction? Provided that my carb intake is below the 20g per day? I dont like eggs and dont have time to cook bacon for brekkie so want to have these great low carb yoghurts (8carbs per tub) for brekkie, then a low carb chicken ceaser salad for lunch (about 4-5 carbs) and then for dinner usually steak or pork with some peppers ( about 4-5 carbs).. that totals about 18 carbs give or take and I really love nuts ( esp. almonds and walnuts) and was wondering a) IS it ok to snak on nuts during induction as long as it is in my 20g limit? b) is it ok to snak on dairy during induction as long as it is in my 20g limit? any help would be so appreciated! |

| You should hold off on nuts and processed dairy foods (lc yogurt) until after induction. There is a chart for adding foods as you add carbs in the Atkins book. It's also in a thread here somewhere. I loaned out my book so I can't tell you exactly what that order is but if you are doing Atkins and have the book you could look in there. If you would like to nibble on cheeses during induction that is OK...there's also a list of acceptable induction cheeses.

| Nuts and some dairy items aren't allowed on induction. Others, such as cheese and heavy cream need to be limited. Here is a link to the Atkins site that lists the foods allowed on induction: http://atkins.com/Archive/2001/12/15-464579.html

| of course, the other question is, if you're happy with your current eating, and you're happy with your rate of loss, do you feel you need to change anything right now? with only a few pounds to lose, unless you have some reason for wanting to do induction, breaking carb cravings, etc. you could decide not to do it at all...
