Budsvtec, I would wait until induction in over. By doing this, you will stay in ketosis and have a more accurate track to run on following your two week induction period. Good luck!

    ***EDIT***
The reason I say this is because milk isn't allowed on induction. I would used it sparingly so you can determine if it has a tendency to stall you. Are you wanting to have the white or chocolate?

Nah I havent really craved any sweets and I figured the Low carb Milk would just make a nice treat for dessert...Its chocolate.....I have been doing so well on induction, and I dont want to ruin it so I wont drink the milk...

Whats a normal time to stay on induction? I know a lot of people do 2 weeks but the book I have says a month....

Well, on Atkins, the main thing is to stay in induction until one has reached lipolysis ( benign ketoacidosis). Once one shows ketosis (and, with a positive reading on ketosrips, this is "proof positive") - although many people lose weight without showing anything on the strips - then the trick is to find out what level of carb intake will result in weight loss.

The "normal" time to stay on induction varies from person to person. Just don't live in fear of OWL. The sooner one accepts the food choices available on OWL, the sooner one has chosen a way of eating which will ultimately result in normalizaton of one's weight and the ability to maintain one's new weight for the future.

Bud, I seem to recall Atkins saying that cottage cheese is a good food to add after induction. Also more vegetables. He poses the question: "What do you miss most?" LOL. Boy, that's a loaded question. What's important is to add the carbs in 5 carb increments per week or so . . . and just using one additional food so you can really get a handle on how the added foods affect your body and personal weight-loss. Good luck! You are doing great!

Bud - The first thing I added in after induction was strawberries and then blueberries. A little splenda and some heavy cream perhaps?

    Bud,

I am in the first week of induction and my attitude is to stick to what is recommended in the Atkins book as closely as possible. From reading different post on this site, it is clear that the closer you follow the book the better results you will have now and going forward into OWL . Good luck!

Default NewLife, you are a very quick study!

It's refreshing to hear a "newbie" say "Follow the book!" instead of "Will this cheat be okay?"

I can tell you're on your way to success in the long haul. Best wishes.
