| Hi all..... Today marks the end of my induction period.... I have lost 1.5kg and about 1 inch around my waist...... Though the it's slow, I know it's moving.... Though I never experience that kind of energy that pple on Atkins would go through, I still feel good. Most importantly, my jeans feel loose..... ![]() Throughout the past 2 weeks, I did not cheat even once. I knew I wanted to lose weight and this might be my last chance. It's not easy for me to start losing weight again. If I give up this time round, I may not be able to pick myself up again. My buddy is getting married on the day after next. Guess I would be eating some "forbidden" food that day and the wine to follow. I'm not taking it as a celebration after induction period. Just that I cannot refuse the bridegroom who is my buddy. Anyway, I will still be going on induction to lose more weight before I move on. I must remain strong and steadfast. I must.... I must.... I cannot fail this time round.........

| Congratulations on doing so well on induction. You said you did not cheat once . . . that is great! Now you have a choice to make. You said your friend is getting married. Just know that if you have wine and "forbidden" foods, the scale will respond accordingly. You will probably throw yourself out of ketosis. That will mean several days of induction-style eating to get back on track. One option would be to just have one sip of wine to acknowlege the toast . . . and to eat only lower carb foods. The choice is yours. Whichever you decide, enjoy!

| Try ands stay away from the way too high in carbs foods and you should do fine at your buddy's wedding. Remember white wine has about half the carb count of red wine, but that's your call. If red is a definite preference then a couple glasses won't ruin your efforts. Even a "bite" of cake ( if you feel it would be rude not to taste it) won't undo all you've accomplished. Just try and minimize the damage. Then get right back on track the next day. Drink lots of water and don't go near the scale for 3 or 4 days. |

| you know when i first stared lc last april i had the same mind set as you do now i did great for the first two weeks and then when special events came along i would always say this one time want hurt but it did hurt i gained precious weight back that i worked so hard to lose and i felt guilty for days. now i have restarted atkins and i have no intentions on cheating not even just once or for a special occassion i've came to the realization that i must do this for me and everything else (food wise) will not break me this time. im sure your buddy will understand if you dont drink the wine or eat the cake im sure he will look at you and be impressed at the lifestyle change that you have decided to make i promise you will be much happier if you skip the "forbidden" foods (they're called forbidden for a reason) and stick to your lifestyle change. |

| Congratualtions on your success! You should feel very good about that. I like Rob's advice about the wedding - to go easy on the amounts of off-plan foods you eat. It may help to eat a good low carb meal before the wedding and to carry a few low carb snacks to fill up. You might notice more hunger and food cravings for a few days afterwards, so try feeding those feelings with veggies and protein. Keep drinking your water to help flush your system. And, if you do happen to eat more carbs, don't beat yourself up or call yourself a "failure", okay? It's just a planned off-day regarding eating - you are still in control. A positive mindset and confidence will help keep you in the weight loss mode.

| Good job, TooHeavy, what a major accomplishment to do your 2 week induction perfectly. As Rob mentioned, don't over do it on the high carb junk, choose the better carbs. Watch your sugar. Most of all though, do enjoy your friend's wedding and the good feelings you have about your recent weight loss. |

| Thank you everyone..... In my country, a wedding actually goes this way. Early morning... the bridegroom would go and fetch the bride to his parents home and the couple would serve tea to all the elders in the family. After which the couple would return to the bride's parents' home to serve tea to her family elders. Lunch buffet would usually follows. The couple would then go for photo taking. ( I would be bring my own food for snacks and lunch, made up of bacon. cheese and some salad.) After that would be resting time till evening... A chinese banquet is usually held, most a 8 or 9 courses dinner. Usually during the banquet, all if not most of the guests would try to make the bridegroom drunk. All his buddies or close friends would then have to share the drinks with him in order to help him. I'm actually quite prepare to "sacrifice". I know I might even take a week to go back to ketosis. Well....... its my buddy's big day.. and its only once in a lifetime......

| Go, TH. Make your sacrifice! Tomorrow, drink lots of water and get yourself back on track. We'll all be here to help you return to better food and drink choices. ... and, no, you shouldn't be hungry. I get hungry every few hours most days. If your snacks aren't satisfying, maybe make your snacks need to be a little bigger? (more than one slice??)

| Could you take some hard boiled eggs along to snack on? They are quite filling and very nutritious. Do you have anything like celery? I find celery stuffed with cheese to be a satisfying snack. The fiber from the vegetable helps fill me up and the fat and protein in the cheese keep me feeling satisfied for a long time.

| if you're hungry, eat. if you're not losing doing this, then look at what you're eating. while many people who lc don't have to watch calories, some do and some foods are known for causing slowdowns in some individuals. you have to just work out what works for you. |
