Hot wings are fine. Just make sure that they are not breaded.
I found a simple hot wing recipe in Rob's journal. He mixed together a little melted butter with a mild hotsauce, dips the wings and then bakes them. I mixed melted butter and Franks Red Hot and dipped skinless chicken breast tenders and baked them. Good stuff, too!

Hey...you've lost 7 pounds in one week!! That is absolutely fabulous!!! Keep up the good work.

Thank you Melissa for the info. Also since my initial 7lbs lost, I have been pretty much stuck between 191 and 192. I have eaten Atkins bars a couple of days and plan to stop. Do you think this is the problem? Also I haven't really started a full blown exercise regiment (I plan to start today). I wanted my body to get use to the LC before going out joking or playing basketball. Now I think my body feels pretty good @ day 8.

Many people on this board will attest that Atkins bars have stalled them.

I was "suffering" through an 8 week stall where I'd go up and down from 200 to 203 pounds. Then I had a big cheat and was determined to get things moving again. I gave up the Atkins shakes, cut out the nuts and cut back on the cheese. The scale recently moved down to 199.

Also, stalls are common as our bodies get used to our new weight. I had a mini stall about 3 weeks into the program, then started losing again. My big stall hit about 3 months into my new way of eating (WOE).

Exercise is very important. It is also my downfall. I don't like exercise and exercise does not like me. But I know that if I'm going to continue to lose and get healthy that we'll need to make ammends with each other and become friends.

The advice I've heard a lot concerning exercise is to just do something. If just going and taking a walk or using the steps instead of the elevator etc.

Another question, are beans or coleslaw good or bad during induction?

Almost all beans need to be avoided as they are high in carbs. (too bad as I love bean...refried beans, navy beans, kidney beans, pinto beans, butter beans, garbanzo beans) I think Southbeach is more open to this than Atkins.

I do eat green beans on a regular basis and I sometimes have a pot of chili with black soy beans that I buy at a large health foods store.

You probably should steer clear of coleslaw unless you make it yourself. Most coleslaw has sugar in it.

What happens if you eat something your shouldn't have during induction? Is there some kind of clensing that should be done or do I just stay on induction for a longer period?

If you eat something off plan for one meal, don't sweat it. Just continue where you left off. If the off plan eating continues for more than a couple of meals or even days you may want to consider going back to induction levels for a few days.

if you're doing induction, you should stay away from anything that's not specifically on the induction food list, which you'll find in your book. You DO have the book, right? you need it, if you don't have it. it WILL make a difference.

Hotwings without breading are DEFINITELY allowed!!!! And hot sauce is supposed to help with weight loss!!!! I use it on my salads now, along with blue cheese dressing........scrumptious!!!! (LOVE Frank's-I could DRINK it!!! )

I ditto Goddess.........you have the book right? Check out Atkins.com website for allowed foods on induction.

Green beans and black soy beans are allowed.

I also am a big hot wing eater...well, chicken wing eater anyway...

When I lost most of my weight...I would (and still usually do) eat at a local all you can eat wing night...and as long as I stayed away from the BBQ or honey mustard sauces (or any that had carbs) I was fine.

Now, about hot sauces (and hot (spicey) food in general)....I've always had a hunch that it would help you loose weight. Is there any research done on this that anyone knows about?

I have the book and hot wings were not mentioned but I have spoken to people who have lost weight on the Atkins plan that ate hot wings. I will be careful when it comes to the sauce. So far I have lost 9 lbs in less than 2 weeks of induction, I'm pumped and have started a regular exercise program. Thanks all for your advice.
