A side benefit of eating low carb is a reduction in appetite (that's been my experience, at least). It's also been my experience that it's better for me to eat a meal -- even if I'm not hungry -- than to skip meals. I lose weight optimally that way.

This is truly a YMMV thing (your mileage may vary), and you need to find out just what's best for your body and your weight loss/health goals.

Personally, however, I've found that eating at least two full meals each day is best. I always eat my vegetables first and then if I'm stilll hungry, I eat my protein portion. If I become comfortably full, I won't eat all of the protein at that meal, and will save it for the next. At the next meal, again, I eat my vegetables first, and then protein. That way I am getting the majority of my carbs from the vegetables, and not stuffing myself with protein. I've found that if I eat too much protein, doing so is counterproductive to weight loss.

My two cents......

By eat more, did you mean more often or more quantity? Dr. Atkins wrote that eating 4 or 5 times a day helpes to avoid elevated glucose and keeps insulin levels stable. Conveniently, that can be 3 meals and 1 or 2 snacks.

I'm of the opinion that eating more veggies, especially leafy greens and low carb vegetables, is always a good idea. Lettuces, broccoli, green beans, zucchini, summer squash, cauliflower, etc., all provide so many important nutrients and good fiber. The net carbs are quite low, so they really help you to feel great without blowing your carb allowance.

I did (and still do occasionally) half decaf coffee......but more for health reasons......I got heart palpatations from the full octane. I now drink mostly GREEN tea, flavored with sugar-free syrups and splenda and stevia. TEA and WATER, Water and Tea!!!! It's a good combo.

More veggies, that's a definite!!!!

Hope when you reach your goal weight you will eat this way the rest of your life.

OH and caffeine stimulates not only insulin levels, but also adrenalin. Eventually, with high caffeine consumption, the adrenals burn out and then you are in BIG trouble.

I like Diet Rite too, since it's sweetened with splenda NOT aspertame. I try to boycott aspertame as much as possible...........that stuff is EVIL.

S/F Homemade Jello:

1 cup boiling water
1 cup cold water
1 envelope of unflavored gelatin
1/2 packet Kool-aid, any flavor
2/3 cup + 1 TBs. granular Splenda

Dissolve gelatin with hot water until thoroughly dissolved. Add remaining ingredients. Pour into another bowl or individual cups. Frig overnight. Make homemade whipped cream and plop a dollup on your jello...............YUM!!!!!
