| My first week on low carb was.....was........a challenge. I did quite well. WE went to red lobster and those biscuits...oh gosh i love 'em....i resisted them. I was so proud of myself...only to discover that on day 7 I was coming down with the flu... I thought it was a cold...ahhhh but I was wrong. day 8 promised me new hell as I heaved and tossed all of my consumptions into the toilet. I was lucky to keep water down...if i did..which i didn't. I resorted to popsicles for the throat, and coke for the tummy... and so...still a bit ill and tired from the weekend battle I am restarting the woe. I lost 4 pounds...however I thank the throwing up for that... |

| Those negative calorie diets can only be thanked for that...and NOTmuch else! Unless you thank them for making you miserable for days on end! Take care and I hope you feel better soon!!!

| Oh, that's the pits! Could it possibly have been food poisoning rather than the flu? I'm glad you are feeling better, now. Don't be discouraged if the scale flucuates a bit while your system returns to normal. It's not too uncommon to get some water bloat after eating high sugar foods (if any made it through the heaving). If you get sugar cravings, try taking a little mustard. That's a tip Andrea posted once. I've tried it a few times and it seems to work. And, you did extremely well to resist those biscuits! In time (after a period of abstinance from carbs), your cravings subside, so it gets easier and easier.

| This was deffinately the flu. I thought it was just a head cold, sneezing and runny nose etc...then on night two, i was plagued with vomiting, fever, sore throat...day three was the same....day four, today, I feel better. I still have a stuffy head and occasional sweats, i guess that is what menopause is like..haha....but i am not tossing cookies so to speak. I have started induction today and am a bit irritable. I will have to try that mustard trick...good to know. I have craved sweets etc, but if I can avoid fat for years and walk away with the cravings and still stand strong, I can do the same with Carbs. Plus, a second go with watching supersize me was a help. Thank you guys for your encouragement. |

| I got really sick my first week and it was really, almost impossible, to stay on the diet. You need to feed a cold and chicken and salad didn't quite do the trick. In the end I just said to hell with it and focused my energy on getting better and that meant eating some off diet junk. I originally thought it was the new diet that made me so ill but turned out just to be a run of the mill flu. Just stay positive and get better then refocus on the diet. |

| I did ok for a day after the flu. I had vitamin C in pill form. I had one cup of coffee, 1 diet soda, 5 glasses of water. For breakfast: 2 hard boiled eggs and a piece of ham. For Lunch I had grilled chicken breast (my mom made) and some salad greens topped with low carb ranch dressing. I had a few cubes of cheese for snack. Dinner I had some green beans, some shrimp and a wedge of laughing cow cheese. |

| Glad you are back to normal and are able to eat again!!!! You might want to give this a whack for a version of those EVIL biscuits. This is off the top of my head, so it might not be just right. (and I have no idea what the carb count would be, I haven't figure it out yet or even tested this recipe.......just off the hip.) 1/2 cup of Atkins Bake Mix 1/2 cup Almond meal 1/2 cup flaxmeal 1 TSP. baking powder 3-4 packets splenda (maybe 1-2) pinch of salt 2 eggs 3 oz. cream cheese-softened 1/4 cup lite olive oil or melted butter 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Mix dry ingredients. Mix wet ingredients. Add wet to dry. Line muffin tins with liners and spray with PAM. Fill cups 1/2 way and bake at 350 for maybe half an hour. (or until they test done with a toothpick.) I'm going to have to try this. I LOVE those biscuits. Sounds doable. Might need some tweaking. I dunno. (not makin' any guarantees. )Sidenote: I am not too sensitive to wheat gluten, so I will add a TBS. of that to the recipe too. If I make these tomorrow, I will figure out the carb count and post it.
