| Hello everyone. Im new to this site but not to the low carb diet. I have been on this diet several times before (Atkins) but for some reason I always go off of the diet. I think I get discourged when eating out. My husband and I own a well drilling business and I go with him. So we are always out. Anyway, I always struggle with the first week, trying to avoid all the sugar. Does anyone have any advice or tips for the first week of the Induction phase. I would greatly appreciate it. Jennifer |

| Welcome, Jennifer. Eating out is certainly possible and, with experience, becomes no big deal. Burgers without the bun, salads with ham or chicken, are the first things that come to mind. The other possibility is getting a cooler and bringing the food of your choice to your job sites. This could work out well if you have a day off every so often to prepare food in advance. I'm sure you'll get other suggestions as well.

| decaf iced green tea with a splash of splenda has saved my life. gives me just enough sweet to kill any cravings. I only have one glass but its just enough and I drink it when i really need it. Salads are great when eating out, and so is Steak with veggies! |

| Thanks a bunch!! I have been taking sandwich meats along with me with cheese also, but I find myself still hungry. I know this will go away before to much longer, but it is killing me right now. If I can just get through this first week I think Ill be alright. Thinks for your ideas. Jennifer |

| Jen, do bring some salad makin's along with your cold cuts and cheese! You can throw together a chef's salad in a minute - especially if you buy the greens that come in a bag, already cut up. I do this a lot, since I almost always bring my own lunch to work. (make sure you bring the dressing in a separate container, then your greens won't get wilted before you're ready to eat. ) I know you'll get other suggestions in this thread, so check in from time to time. Many of our members log in about once a day, so it sometimes takes a couple of days to get more input.
