| If your following Atkins, strawberries and blueberries are some of the first fruits you can add into your diet after induction. |

| Yup. Kim's right, don't forget to subtract the fiber. I love strawberries and I'm looking forward to strawberry season, which starts here very soon.

| Here is the web site I use to check the carb count of food. You can even insert the particular quantity to get the total nutritional breakdown for each type of food. http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/search/ |

| Yes don't forget to subtract the fiber. Strawberries are the preferred fruit of many low carb eaters because they are so very low in carbs when you take out the fiber. Atkins really recommends most berries. I use fitday when I am curious about the carb counts, I use to put everything I ate in it, adding new foods as I got them. For 5 ounces of strawberries (which is a half of a container where I buy them) it shows just 6 net carbs.

| The following website will keep track of your daily intake of Calories, carbs, fiber, protein etc. And will also keep track of a large range of nutrients. You will need to do the subtraction of fiber from total carbs yourself. www.fitday.com |

| I eat a ton of strawberries and at aobut 6 gs of carbs per cup...about 4-5 oz if you are weighing them...they are perfect...Raspberries are even better more like 3-4 for a 1/2 cup serving and since they are so small...add a couple of tablespoons of whipped cream and you have a perfect snack/dessert...I leave them a bit frozen and eat them as a cold treat when DD has ice cream!

| I love strawberries, I like them plain too. I also like them frozen whipped up with some kefir or yoghurt and some vanilla flavouring. I have to be careful with them as I find that if I have a big pack at home I keep grabbing one or two and before I know it I have eaten the whole lot. My friend has his allotment and he grows vegetables and fruit and so on, raspberries are due to be ready for picking in a few weeks and I cannot wait, they are so different to the ones you buy in teh supermarket, I will definately be saving my carbs for that one as he gives me a big container every year.

| Definitely go for the strawberries. I love them straight, in cereal, or dolled up with a little sweetener and kefir. My other favorites are mixed frozen berries, or blueberries, which I buy in bags at Costco. Pop 'em one at a time as a frozen snack. Pour kefir over them frozen for an "ice cream" treat. Mix them in cereal. Delicious! And a fabulous source of anti-oxidants. |
