Default A newbie, yet not a newbie

Hey y'all,

I'm a newbie kind of. I was hanging around here about 2 years ago, but lost my sense of needing to take care of myself, and fell off the LC wagon. After awhile, the self-shame became so bad that I quit coming here and posting...

so... 2 years later, I'm back and I'm hoping to see some familiar faces

I'm relatively new to this forum. But I do understand your getting back on the wagon. I swayed considerably over the past year and am now "Back-On-Track Again"
Good luck on your journey. "You Can Do It!!" We're all here for you.

Welcome, Katie.

I wasn't here two years ago but have been for the last year. I fell off for a time this spring and have been on and off since but lately I've been much better. I know it's hard to come back but important so that you get on track.

You can do it! I hope your transition back to low carb is as smooth as can be.

welcome HOME katie...

although i wasnt here two years ago.. i HAVE been here over a year and 3/4 so i must have just missed ya!

it is EXTREMELY inspiring to ME for people to continue this way of eating for long periods of time... it is even MORE inspirational if they share their pitfalls as well as their successes..
MOST of all.. it is inspiring to ME for people who have been gone for a length of time to come back HERE to begin again... so that it is apparent that even going off plan for a long time isnt the death nail... also... i VERY much appreciate that they come HOME to tell us what has been going on.... rather than to go off to a NEW FORUM to share their experiences...

welcome home again! and much success!

So far so good! I'm on day 6 with no cheats and no cravings so far!!! I can't believe that I haven't had a fall into the pity pool of not being able to have something yet. It helps that my 4 1/2 year-old thinks that my food looks better than what I've been feeding him, and has started semi-low carbing right along with DH and me. I make sure that he has fruit and enough calcium, but other than that he's eating what we are! Must be because I was on Atkins when I got pregnant with him, but the little guy never has liked pasta, potatoes, and rice very much. One of my bestest memories ever was watching him shove a plate of french fries on the floor to get at a plate of steamed broccoli! Okay... the servers at the restaurant probably weren't thrilled, but even at 1 1/2 years old, he was LC friendly

My son won't touch fries either, had them once (about four of them) that was enough. But he does love the bread. But that's perfectly OK he likes whole wheat as much as white so that is good.

Glad you are doing well.
