Default Stressed!!!

I've lost 18 lbs. since May 18 when I started doing Atkins, slowly but surely. I have been able to remain cheat free until recently.

I have to have an MRI done tomorrow and I am so stressed out! I went to McDonald's and got their grilled chicken ranch blt sandwich and ate the bun (whole wheat). It was 52 carbs, almost 20 more carbs than I have been allowing myself daily! I got a diet coke with it, no fries! It was the bread that I was craving. I'm assuming this will knock me out of ketosis. If it does, do I have to start over again at 20? Also I'm taking just one Xanax before the MRI to keep me from freaking out in that machine, does anyone know if just one will throw off my body chemistry and make it harder to back into ketosis? I guess if I drink extra water that might help flush it out of my system quicker?

I use to pop Xanax like candy when I worked for an evil boss that stressed me out completely but I have NO idea how it works with the body's chemistry and ketosis.

One the other hand I have cheated with bread plenty and know the for me it takes at least two days (minimum and it only happened once) but usually three to get back in ketosis. If you go back to eating your regular 30-something carbs as you had before it may take a couple exra days. It depends on you. You will get back in by sticking with the same but Atkins does recommend in his book if something happens to drop for a time. I use to go lower carbs for a few days whenever a birthday party was coming. But then never cheated...this was last eyar when I was oh so good.

Whatever you do don't think it's the end of the world. It will just add to stress and I believe stress can cause you to hold on to weight.

good advice from Cushie......... It's not the end of the world. Just jump back on plan and don't let this be the beginning of a slippery slope.

Surprisingly, I wasn't knocked out of ketosis! Dreamfields pasta knocked me out before, but almost doubling my daily carbs didn't, hmmm.

Well, I'm happy. Now if I can just get to my mini goal of 25lbs so I can reward myself with a new scale I'll be even happier!
