| Some people find they do slow down weight loss while others find they do not...I know not the answer you wanted. I wish it were so easy to know. You look as if you are in induction...I say this because you are having three cups of veggies as the good doctor has ordered. My own opinion would be that if the bars are keeping you satisfied and they do not seem to be slowing your losses then they would be OK on occassion, I would say one a day instead of two but that's up to you. Now how do you know if they are slowing you? I guess that you would have to stop using them completely for a time and change nothing else to see. Now I think a lot of people do feel that you should do without completely but it really is up to you. I use lc shakes when I am looking for a snack but I have grabbed a bar while walking in the grocery store so I am not tempted to grab a cookie instead (duh, don't shop when hungry but sometimes it can't be helped).

| In my humble opinion, the shakes are fine if you don't overuse them, but the bars are a huge no-no for me. I definitely stall when using them and I have known MANY people who experienced the same effect. It's true that YMMV (your mileage may vary) and you may not have any trouble with them, but it's really *best* to eat REAL FOOD, not fillers -- which is what those bars really are. I would add more veggies, quite frankly, and not worry so much about going over the recommended daily allowance there. Add some raw broccoli or some fresh green beans. These will fill you up, will NOT throw you out of ketosis, and you won't be left wondering, "Could I have lost even more...?" HTH,

| Welcome to LCE. I would defenitely recomend avoiding the bars. They do stall many people, including me. More greens (of whatever form you choose) are always good. Other than that your menu looks good for induction. Just make sure to move up the carb ladder after your first two weeks. HTH

| Welcome, danelover. Shakes are not usually a problem as a meal replacement, but bars as snacks will slow most people down. Since you only have 15 lbs to lose, your initial losses may not come as quickly as they might for someone with more weight to lose. Hope you'll make yourself at home here.

| Hi All, I am a Newbie LCE , here. I started my LC at the beginning of the new year 1-2-09. @ 245lbs. I have been stalled out for about three weeks now, and now I think I know why. I have never been a big breakfast person, so i thought the bars and shakes were perfect for replacing breakfast and sometimes lunch., often without snacks either. So starting tomorrow, I am going to eat some real food for breakfast lunch and dinner. and see if that doesn't get the ball rolling again. I will say though, that I am happy to say 27 lbs. down... yeah!but it took me three weeks to loose the last three pounds, where befor the bars, i was doing three to four lbs. per week. .. so I'll keep you all posted, and thanks to you all, i learned what i needed to know. | The bars didnt work for me but i didnt find any problem with the shakes as far as stalling me. But trying to make this a way of life and not just another diet...I have started cooking more real food and stopped looking for the quick way out.....I just decided I could either live the rest of my life eating bars and shakes or I could cook some really good food that was good for me and tasted great...the choice was an easy one.... |

that is my weight loss sleeping and stalling out.I have them on hand for emergency purposes only. *If it's a toss of the atkins bar or let's say a twix bar. I go for the Atkins' pb cups. My Advice: Nix the bars til half your weight is gone that you want to lose. Incorp them with your Maintanance program. I believe that is what they are designed for. (Your menu btw: looked very good!!)Best of luck!!

| Hello all. I am happy to report, I lost two more pounds in one day. YaY! The Bars were indeed the culprit! just one day off of them, and i dropped .. so yeah, only use those bars only if have to. I am sooo thrilled. I am 30 lbs. down |
