    Talking LOL my pants fell down!

    hehe, well i been at this about a week now and today i was walking my son home from the bus stop and right before we hit my house, i was picking up some acorns on the way back and went to stand up and my pants fell down. i guess that means i lost something, i will have to go and measure. anyway earlier today i did food shopping and also picked up ketostix and the results are between the 15 and the 40 range. closer to moderate tho. is that where my ketones are supposed to be?

    what is OWL, ANA, and WOE? i have seen them on here but cant figure out what they mean. ty in advance !

    That's great! Not that your pants fell down but that you've lost enough inches to cause the fall. I lost my skirt while cleaning a fridge at the office the other day, what a wondeful "thinner" feeling.

    OWL = ongoing weight loss

    Dunno about ANA. American Nurses Association? Antinuclear Antibody?

    Others:
    WOE = way of eating
    WOL = way of life
    BTW = by the way.....oh, wait....you already used that one

    Kudos on the pants falling down scenario. I remember when that happened to me the first time. Didn't quite understand what was happening or why.

    ANA = "Atkins Nutritional Approach" maybe?

    Yep. Atkins Nutritional Approach. Sounds a lot better than "diet, " as in, "Doctor, I've been thinking of trying the Atkins Nutritional Approach--and here's why...."

    Cinch up those pants--and keep on keeping on!

    P. S. About the ketostix. Any change on the stix from pink to purple indicates ketone bodies in the bloodstream, which indicates fat-burning going on. There's no set range. I wondered though about the numbers. My stix (Bayer) only show a color chart (at least I think so!)

    Don't get hung up on the ketostix. If you are losing inches and/or weight, ANA (oops Atkins) is working for you. This is the best guide.

    congratulations on your revelation of how well you're doing! good surprise, huh?

    incidently, if you don't have the atkins book, now would be a great time to get it! in addition to making those acronyms make more sense, it's an invaluable guide along the way and helps out a lot. i strongly recommend it.

    keep up the good work, missy!
