 blood sugar and ketosis ? i have to aske this here because i just dont understand. maybe somebody can explain? well i had blood work done at the doctor including a fasting blood sugar. the doc called me with the results today and said my blood sugar was high and in the "pre diabetic" range. how could my blood sugar be so high when i'm in ketosis? i tested my urine that morning and it was in the 40 range. maybe i'm just not understanding all this?

 Re: blood sugar and ketosis ? My suggestion would be to sit down for a talk with your dr. ASAP. You need further testing. If you are spilling ketones in your urine AND have a high fasting blood sugar, this could be a serious problem called ketoacidosis.
