| Hi, I was wanting to know any induction tips. Monday will be my completion of Ind. but I want to make the best of it. Also, I read somewhere that diet soda's are a "no-no" during this time. Is it true? If so, I am so BUSTED. I have been drinking my H2O, but slipping in soda's daily:( Thanks. |

| I wouldn't sweat the diet sodas. I drank them during Induction and it didn't seem to hinder my weight loss. Everyone is different, however, so YMMV (your mileage may vary). Kudos on getting through Induction (nearly). Since you've only got four days left, I don't know of any tips I can give you other than to keep doing what you're doing if it's working for you. Hope this helps...

| Hey, WTG on getting this far! How's the energy level/cravings/weight loss and all? Does this feel like the right thing? My best tip at this point is to plan carefully for your next few weeks...if you add a few more carbs, where can you get the best value for your money, so to speak. I mean, which foods give the best nutrition for the carb count, or which ones make the diet most stay-onable for you. Here's a suggestion from when I did this the first time: take your measurements at the end of induction: waist, hips, bust, arms, thighs, neck, and/or wherever you hope to lose. I had a big stall on the scale for about 6 weeks after induction, BUT at the same time I lost ***6 inches*** off my waist!!!! No pounds, but HUGE change, more than one whole pants size. SO I didn't get as discouraged by the fact that that lyin' scale didn't budge! Woo hoo to you for coming this far! -G |

| Great work getting through induction. Same thoughts here with the soda, it really depends on you and how your body reacts. I drink soda instead of coffee in the morning. I had given it up completely but felt like I was deprived and the splenda colas make me jittery and nuts. So I figure one diet coke a day is good. I never wanted to feel deprived and I really dont with this WOE (way of eating).

| Thanks for the Woo-Hoo's!! 3daysx30min. I have never tried dieting, I have always known that I needed to but, I am comfortable with who I am. My son had slipped up recently and said "Mom your round" So here I am. Doing it for me, but for my kids also. NO CRAVINGS YET!! Knock on wood. And weight loss is at 6lbs. I am having my womanly week, so any weight loss is GREAT to me. I have up-ed my h2o intake this week, because of being menstrual. Really seems to be working with energy level, and NO CRAMPS!!!YEAH |

Also, I highly recommend lypolysis testing strips to give you incentive in the early days if you don't see results right away. The strips show you if you are burning fat by turning purple. If it wasn't for these, I am pretty sure I never would have succeeded in changing my ways. I notice that now (LC began 5/04) I weigh only 20 pounds less, but went from a 7 to a 3, losing lots of inches. Everyone thinks I've lost more (after 2 kids I really did have a different body than before), but the protein I was consuming, over time, helped me to really tone and add muscle (woohoo My advice is to stick to the plan guidelines as much as possible and make it a conscious effort to realize it's for the long haul and doesn't work as a temporary fix -Ann |

| Welcome Doin It!!!! If you haven't already, I would suggest you keep a food diary for the next couple of months. You are now ready to move onto OWL and you want to keep a record of what you consume and correlate it to your inches lost (and weight lost). Record EVERYTHING you put in your mouth, including sugarfree gum and water. This will be an invaluable tool to look back on when you get closer to your goal. Keep in mind that we all hit plateaus. It's a normal part of the process. It's very hard to keep up your diligence when you hit one of these (usually a nasty one hits around the third week) but if you are forwarned about it, you can psychologically prepare. Be ready for it and you'll glide through it. When it happens, just ride it out. Your losses will continue, just in fits and starts. Don't be alarmed by them. Definitely take your measurements as mentioned above. That is an invaluable tool also. I agree, when you are hungry................EAT!!!!! You can now add nuts. I use them when I get the munchies. I measure out a 1/4 cup and put the rest away. If you are STARVING, have a salad, a hard boiled egg, some meat or whatever. Don't starve yourself, that will be counterproductive. Drink your water. Exercise. and most of all.............enjoy the journey!!!!!!!!!!!
