Default Another Newbie!

Hey all, my names Gordy from Scotland. I start my low-carb diet tomorrow morning..well today(01:33am). I'm a young one at only 18 and I am trying the Atkins approach, for the 2 weeks induction at least, if succesful I'll continue of course. I don't have a particular amount of weight I'd like to lose. I'm not 'fat' or 'thin' so just wanna lose a few pounds and feel better, any help/advice appreciated

Oh and wish me luck!..2 weeks+ without Cola and Irn-Bru may drive me mad. hehehe

Welcome, Gordy.

There's nothing like adopting a healthy way of eating before weight becomes a problem. The Atkins nutritional approach has been a healthy lifestyle for me.

Hope you'll make yourself at home.

Hello, Gordy. Yes, Atkins is a good gateway to healthy eating for life. With the emphasis on fresh foods, most people end up eating way more veggies and way less fat than they did on a "normal" diet--especially an American young person's diet.

Exercise is good, too. I'm looking forward to two hours of Scottish country dancing tonight.

Best wishes.

Welcome, Gordy!

It is good to get into good eating habits while you are young. I hope things go well for you!

Welcome Gordy!!!!

I get a sense that you may not approach this as a LIFESTYLE CHANGE and might do it temporarily. But if you adopt this way of eating (WOE) for the rest of your life, you will NEVER have a weight issue. And cruise around the site here in the cooking forum and the recipe section at the top and get ideas of what other stuff to have, so you don't get bored with a consistent menu. Variety really helps!!!!!

Again, welcome aboard!!!!!

Just remember Gordy, if you go back to the way you ate before LC, you will probably gain it back. Some foods just HAVE to be eliminated completely in order to maintain our health. Just keep that little nugget in the back of your head.
