| I've read over past threads and don't see any reference to vitamins. I'm afraid that I'm not getting all the nutrients I need. I am just starting on week three. I have decided to continue the Induction Phase for at least one more week. I'd love any input anyone has on this. But as it is so strict, I thought some viatmins couldn't hurt. I have this list of things I may need ... Calcium, Thiamin, viatmin C, and vitamin A. I really have no idea though and I can't find my book! In the beginning I had horrible headaches and was so nauseas. Serves me right for being such a sugar junkie. Thanks for your help. You have a great forum here! Kay |

| Welcome, Kay. We are currently discussing supplements on another thread.....but I don't recall the title of it right now. I'll bump it up for you. You may want to use the search feature here and just type in "supplement"......you should get more hits that way. Gotta go. Check ya later!

| Thanks ladies for your help. I checked out the links and have made a list of vitamins to check out. I've never taken vitamins so I wasn't sure what was what :-) I've been reading hundreds of posts and I've noticed that I seem to be the only one who ate a pound of bacon right after frying it up! I love bacon and I was hungry. I thought that was okay, but I see now that all that sodium isn't good. Live and learn. Thanks again for your help. Kay |

| Hi, Kay. Keep doing your "homework" on all your LC questions. Getting educated is the key to long-term success. Um...eating a pound of bacon in one sitting probably crosses the "everything in moderation" line. In spite of what you may have read, LC isn't about "all you can eat"--of meat, or fat, or anything. Next time you're that hungry, choose from a variety of allowed foods, especially including something green, preferably dark green and leafy, or dark green as in broccoli. You'll get several benefits: nutrients (vitamins that taste good!), a lot to chew on for eating satisfaction, and bulk to fill you up. Fiber is good. Best wishes. |

| Kay - you're not the only one to eat an entire pound of bacon. Admittedly it did take me most of a day to eat it (I'm more of a snacker than a meal eater), but my very first time on Atkins (this is my 3rd leg of my journey), I did that every single Saturday morning. I'd fry up a whole pound of bacon and just eat some all day long. I lost tons of weight that time with little or no effort. Yeah, the salt wasn't the best idea, and I probably wouldn't do it again (okay... given the right circumstances, I might), but it didn't kill me either

| Thanks Katie, I feel better knowing I'm not the only one LOL. You know when it's cooked up it turns out to be a lot less than the original package :fork: I'm new to this so I'm learning as I go along. I have found some great ideas here and went shopping for vitamins and some better food choices. You're right Barb, it wasn't in moderation. I was following the eat until you're full rule. I appreciate your input and have some better choices in the house now. Thanks for the support Ladies. Kay |
