| I just wanted to check in and say how much this site has helped me. Ok, its only been 2 days...but it is helping. Knowing I'm not alone and reading so many sucess stories is awesome. I know that my eating got me into this mess and that my eating is the only way out of this mess. But I can not say enough about this website, I'm so happy I stumbled across it. **One thing that I need to work on is eating more often. I have a bad habit of not eating for hours and then by the time I do eat, I'm so hungry its hard not to binge. It seems hard to figure out something quick to grab to eat and I dont' feel like taking the time to make a salad, or a meal early in the day. Does anyone have good ideas on quick & easy things to eat during the day? Amber |

| Hey Sarah, glad it's going so well for you! For me, I've found that cheese sticks, hard boiled eggs, deviled eggs, and sugar free jello with some whipped cream are my best friends, especially for snacking. Just be sure to add the carb counts to your daily total. I also found some baby sweet pepper - like red and orange peppers - at walmart, and I stuffed those with cream cheese and they were delish! I also cooked some chicken breasts and cut those into strips for snacks. Just some ideas. Hope it helps! |

| I buy the pre-cooked chicken breasts in the freezer case at Walmart (2 carbs each) and cook hamburger patties in advance, so that I can just grab either thing and nuke it for a couple of minutes. Quick, easy, and yummy! I can't eat very many eggs due to a food sensitivity, so I have to find alternatives... green olives, celery with cream cheese (snacky so very satisfying), cream cheese mixed with vanilla DaVinci syrup. Actually cream cheese and almost anything. I hide those premade SF jello cups in the back of the fridge (so the kidlet doesn't eat them all), broccoli with Ragu double cheese sauce (like from mac and cheese - nuke the broccoli for 5 minutes, top with some cheese sauce and stir, the hot broccoli will heat up the sauce), I roast veggies and keep them in the fridge, they are good cold with a drizzle of olive oil or heated up.

| This isn't something quick to eat, but last night my family was eating pizza and I wanted some so instead I had pepperoni and then nuked them with some cheese on top. It was so good. Hopefully that was a good thing to snack on :-) |

| Ham roll ups....take a slice of ham, slather some cream cheese, and put a pickle (check carb counts, I usually use dill) on one end and roll up, eat as is or cut up into bite size pieces... sometime I will take a slice of ham and a slice of swiss cheese and roll together, makes a quick lc snack... c

| Vegies! Raw vegies: brocolli, celery, zucchini, cukes ... With a nice dip made of blue cheese or ranch dressing and sour cream.

| Amber, I know what you are saying that it is hard to find things quick and snack often! If you are experiencing induction as most are you are having cravings for certain foods (i.e. creamy, spicy, salty, etc) I try not to let myself get to the point of hunger and since I am so lazy I find it hard to make a full meal. So what I do is go to the deli and get turky, salami, and cheese and make "meat roll-ups" I store them in tupperware in my fridge and whe I am hungry or know I need to have a quick snack I grab one or two. Sometime I crave salty food so I grab for some green olives, but watch out olives have been know to slow ketosis if that is your goal. Also pickles are a DREAM to have on hand to snack on with ZERO carbs!!! My favorite thing of all times is to go to All-You-Can-Eat Pizza! I know, you are wondering why I would put myself through that temptation. Well I crave the creamy aspect of pizza so I go and eat the TOPS of the pizza! I scrape off the yummy good tops and disgard the bread! So delicious! I only go once a week probably twice a month, but on those days that I go I am VERY strict. I stick to tuna and turkey and do not indulge in any cheese. I use all my carbs for that one meal and all my carbs alloted to cheese in that meal. I urge everyone to try! Good luck to you! Stay strong. |

| You guys stole all my ideas!!!!! LOLOL (Great minds think alike, eh?) I vote for the meat roll ups and cut up veggies and dip as my top choices. I've been known to take a jar of olives out of the fridge and just chow on those too. But you better believe, I drink 16 oz of water too, those tasty little morsels are SALTY and might make you retain water. (as will deli meats) So, drink plenty of water too!!!! I like to make sour cream dip by adding about a tsp. of dried minced garlic and onion and let it sit a couple of hours so the dried stuff can rehydrate. You could add dried dill to this also or just use dill alone. I always add a pinch of sea salt to my dips too. These are like "cheating" for me with veggies. LOVE IT!!!!!! Hard boiled eggs are up there too. I like to have a bunch on hand for just eating out of the shell or to make egg salad or deviled eggs. I make egg salad with chopped eggs, mayo, chopped celery, a teensy bit of chopped green or white onion, and Mt. Olive Sugar Free (splenda sweetened) relish. MMMM MMMM good. DH even loves it. I do the same with canned chicken. YUMMERS!!!!!!

| I'm a huge fan of bacon wrapped scallops - - as a snack or entree. I get them at Sam's Club but I think you can get them at Walmart too. They're awesome! My second favorite snack is shrimp. Just get the frozen, peeled, deveined variety, throw in a quick 2-3 minute water bath. They're a great munchie. I haven't tried this yet but a friend of mine mixes cocoa powder with cool whip to calm her ice cream cravings. I calm mine with diet rite raspberry or black cherry soda. Hope these help! |
