Default Forgot About Cough Medicine~~

So I have been really feeling bad. Last night I took some cough and cold medicine. Today, after reading some post I went back to the atkins book and started to re-read parts. Saw the warning about cough syrup. Now I am upset. That is probably what knocked me out of ketosis., I should have just had the cookies like Iwanted. No, I am just upset. What a waste. Now I just feel like giving up. This is SO HARD. Why can't all the foods I love be the "free" foods. I am trying to find the big picture here. All because I feel bad. Hell, I should have just been sick. SO sad......... What to do. :(

Hang in there. This is a learning process. Unless you were really chugging the cough medicine, you shouldn't be very far from ketosis.

Next time you need some, there are several kinds of cough syrups that are sugar free. They're usually labeled that way and also say "safe for diabetics." Next time, you'll be prepared.

When you are sick, it is time to think about getting healthy again. Many of us will surely turn to chicken noodle soup with saltines when we are sick. You can alway get back on LCE when you feeling better. If you are new to LC then your body may be somewhat weak and suseptable to colds etc. Later you may find that you will be getting sick less than you did before. Of course having children around has a big impact on the amount of germs brought into your home. DW and I are rarely sick anymore. And when we are, it is for a shorter time. I hope yu feel better soon.

any single incident will not do you in. like any part of life, it's an ongoing learning process. use the info you've learned, and you've turned it into a help instead of problem.
