This Is My First Time To Ever Send A Message On The Computer And I Hope I Do It Right! I Am So Happy To Have Found This Site, I'm About To Give Up The Ghost And Just Live My Life Fat Except That I Am A Diabetic And I Have Got To Get A Grip On This. Over The Past Several Years I Have Gone On The Dr. Atkin's Diet With Very Dissappointing Results. I Usually Loose 2-3# First Month And Nothing At All After That. At Some Point, Usually About 5th Week I Will Start To Gain A Few Pounds. I Get Into Deep Purple Ketosis Almost Immediately And Have No Problem Remaining There. I Do Take Glucophage, No Insulin. I Follow The Program Strictly And Love The Reduction In Blood Sugar Results But It Is Difficult To Hang In There With No Weight Loss. Could I Be One The 2% That Cannot Loose Weight On Lc? Unable To Excercise Or Walk Long Distances Due To Back Injury. Hope This Is Not Too Long. Any Help Out There?

Hello there! I'm losing slowly as well but people told me to hang in there. However, I'm reading Dr. Atkins New Diet revolution book and am on the food intolorance chapter. Sounds like you might be dealing with one of those maybe? Don't give up...this is a great group!!

Welcome, splintermaker.

Those of us who are insulin resistant do have a slower journey to weight loss. I lost very slowly, with many ups and downs along the way. Two years to lose about 58 pounds. That was about a third of me.

However, my blood sugars normalized in several weeks, without any hypoglycemic medications. It was the excellent A1c's that kept me eating this way.

You can certainly post your daily menus here. The veteran members of this community are very good at identifying items that frequently impede weight loss.

Hope you'll make yourself at home.

Hi, Splinter. You did just fine with your first-ever post on a bulletin board. And you picked a very good place to do it. Lots of friendly, helpful people, with a lot of knowledge about LC eating.

I'm responding mainly just to say hello, because I have no experience at all with diabetes and its possible consequences for LC. I'm sure you'll hear from others here who have, so please check back from time to time.

Hi Splinter,

I like Barb do not have any experience with diabetes. I'm sure that those who do will help you out.

Welcome!

Splintermaker - Are you male or female? Approximate age (you don't have to be specific if you don't want to)? How much weight do you have to lose? Can you post a typical day's menu? I sure hope we can help you I'm a borderline diabetic (on the edge of being forced to take meds by my doctor), and this is my last-ditch effort to stay off the meds.

hey splinter. you did just fine posting! this is a very helpful bunch, so do chat with us about what's going on, as folks can often help identify sources of problems. hang in there and keep looking; sometimes it takes a while to find out exactly what works for you and what doesn't, but it's always worth the effort.

welcome.

Hey there,

I too can get depressed on this diet. I am not where you are right now but have been. I feel a slowing down right now and it is frustrating. I am thinking of getting on the elliptical more. Well, not more just get on! I am here as are many others to support you. Some of my post are happy, then there are those like today when I just feel alone in this fat world.
