Default craving calcium?

Is it possible that my body is craving calcium? I eat cheese, pretty much everyday (no more than 4 oz. since I am on induction). Usually it is 2 oz. a day. I have been eating brocolli occasionally, which I believe has calcium. But I noticed that my latest cravings (in the carb section) have been yogurt and ice cream.

I take a multivitamin a day. I don't mind having to take an extra calcium supplement. The multivitamin I take is for women, so it has extra calcium in it already.

Besides broccoli, what other foods, in induction, are rich in calcium? Or even better, what is a good substitute for ice cream or creamy yummy yogurt . I have tried diet root beer and heavy cream. That makes me think of ice cream. I have also tried cream cheese, with a tiny squeeze of lemon and tiny drop of vanilla extract and splenda. Any other good ideas?

Hi Suzanne,
I'm sure that others will have better answers for you than I will, but I have to comment on dairy. I did and actually still do get weird cravings for milk. You said that you were specifically craving yogurt and ice cream what about milk? Yogurt and ice cream makes me think sugar.

Anyhow, I have to take a calcium with magnesium because I have gotten the dreaded leg cramps that I have read about here, if I go to many days with out my supplement I wake up shouting, "Aaargh," in the most unflattering poses.

hmmmmm. i am also wondering if it's not the texture, maybe, instead of the calcium per se? sometimes i find myself wanting stuff that has a particular texture. and as chelsea pointed out both of those things are sweet, too.

Speaking for myself, when I crave ice cream, it's not calcium that I'm craving, but sugar (and ice cream).
