| I lost hair every time I lost weight, until I started taking a calcium supplement (1200 mg a day). That seems to have stopped my weight loss hair loss.

| Kroach, Can I ask a few questions? What, exactly is the Oprah Boot Camp? I'm not familiar with it; is it a low carb program? We're primarily a low carb or reduced carb group here. And when you say start again, do you mean go back on the Boot Camp program? It's not really clear. Were you planning a low carb lifestyle? And if so, which one? Let us know a little more about you. Also, many people experience hair loss when they make a drastic change in their eating patterns. I know that I suffered hair loss every time I was on any kind of low fat program; we here at LCE are pretty convinced that low fat is not necessarily the best way to go for everyone.

| The Oprah Boot Camp was a 12 week low carb diet plan that she did to start her loosing weight You eat only lean protein and green vegetables and have 2 fruits a day and like i said you get 3 days in the 12 weeks to cheat alittle like a little bit of brown rice I am planning a low carb lifestyle because mostly i know it works and also when i was on the Oprah camp diet I had my blood work checked before i started and everything that was high was in the normal range after the 12 weeks My cholestrol was like 550 and came down to 159 so i know that it is much better for my health There is also diabetes in my family so i am pretty worried about that also. I have been on the low fat diets also and you are right they are not for everyone The low carb diet has been the only one that worked for me so far but after vacation last year i went right back to our normal way of eating which only helped me and my husband gain all the weight back plus some Starting tomorrow morning we are gonna be back on track Thanks for the replies This is what the Oprah Boot Camp diet says to eat What to Eat (and Not) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() You didn't think there wouldn't be any food rules in Boot Camp, did you? Not to worry?we promise, you'll still manage to feel full and satisfied.![]() ![]() ![]() Overall, eat lean protein, two fruits a day, and all the green vegetables you want. Keep the fat low (for salad dressing, you can use a little olive oil with lemon and garlic). No alcohol. The main rule: eliminate the white stuff?bread, pasta, potatoes, rice?as well as candy, pastry, cookies, cake. "A few people might get evil on me," Oprah says, knowingly?sugar deprivation can turn even a saint nasty! For the first month, stay away from whole grains (brown rice, oatmeal, whole wheat cereals and breads). After that, you can slowly add them back. The other big rule: You must stop eating three hours before bedtime. Do just this, Oprah says, and you'll lose weight. During the 12 weeks, you get to choose three days when you can allow yourself either alcohol (a glass of wine, maybe two; a cocktail) or some refined carbs (one piece of cake, one slice of bread, one bowl of pasta. The key word is one). She also has some exercises to do every day She also has 2 fruits a day Should we forget them for the first 2 weeks Thank you |

| Hmmmm, I'm going to check this plan out. In the past, Oprah has always denied any connection to anything low carb; maybe she has changed her tune. Her Boot Camp plan sounds a lot like South Beach, anyway, to me. I hope this works for you, Kroach, and lots of luck. Let us know how it goes, ok? And welcome to LCE!!
