Cool Have a great holiday weekend!

I want to wish everyone a safe and happy Memorial Day! This is where we can shine... the cookout is my best friend, LOL! I will have to pass-up the fresh Silver Queen Corn and the potatoes and onions... but with grilled squash, deviled eggs, fresh green/spinach salad, and the yummy grilled meats, I think I will manage just fine!

What are you doing for Memorial Day?

not fully sure what we are doing... DH has to go back to work on Monday, and my kid finally has the weekend off (4 days off in a row - first time ever, and first weekend day off in a VERY long time)

we just bought a new BBQ'er (its huge) so i know we are cookin' on Sunday... and crap- it's gonna be near 90. (i dont do heat and humidity well)

probably cookin' some steaks and chicken, and i can whip up some LC coleslaw and big salad.

I have a bbq today at my son's school and I have no idea what they will have but I know there will be some sort of meat

Tomorrow I have another bbq that will be so not LC friendly but I am not staying just dropping off some dishes and helping get ready early then I have to get Xander to therapy. So that shouldn't be too bad.

The rest of the weekend is for relaxing with Xander and finally making it to the zoo again.

I'm planning to do a lot of relaxing. In between, I'll brave the inevitable crowd of lunatic gardeners to go get some annuals for my porchbox planters. I'm sure I'll cook out at least once, since the weather is supposed to be beautiful.

I'm going to my son's to spoil my grandkids. We will get them all worked up and then do the Grandparents trick and leave on Tuesday for the parents to get them calmed down. I will have my Memorial Day BBQ on Tuesday when we get home. BBQ pork, fauxtato salad, baked beans (black soybeans), and a dessert to be named later.

Thanks, Kelly! I'm not sure what we'll be doing....DH wants me to buy some ribs or brisket so he can smoke it. I want to do some sewing and bike riding. One thing I know I am NOT doing: making the trek to the Looney Bin (work) for 3 whole days! Yeah!

We live at the foot of the Smoky Mountains, so we've decided to take a drive to the top (an area called the Chimney Tops) for a picnic. My grandmother passed away in April last year from Leukemia - so this is really the first time we are "living" since she passed away. It will be me, Ds, my mother and grandfather. It'll be nice.

Sounds like everyone has great plans... enjoy the R&R!
