Default A Question about Induction

I am currently educating myself about Atkins way of eating and am kind of confused about the carb consumption during induction. I understand that 20 gms of carb is allowed per day, but is that NET CARBS or total carbs. For example the flexseed meal says 4gms of carb per serving and all of those 4 gms come from fiber. So would that count as 4 gms toward the 20 gm allowance?? Similarly some of the veges allowed are 50% sugar and 50% fiber, so do we still count the total carb toward the daily allowance???
Any clarification will be really appreciated.

the DANDR considers the 20 carbs as Net carbs. Total carbs less fiber carbs.
Don't be fooled by the games that the merchandisers play - true net carbs only subtract the fiber carbs. Sugar replacements are sometimes subtracted to tout the food as less carbs than it really is.
But that doesn't seem to work for most of us. We have to consider those as bad as the sugar it replaces.

Nearly all of your carbs during induction should come from good green leafy vegetables if you can manage that.

So to expound, to all intents and purposes, flaxseed meal is free. Nothing like Eggs, Bacon and a 1-min muffin in the morning to help weightloss. (Unless it's drinking water all day long).

Sven

ps I recommend a fair bit of flax-seed meal for fiber purposes. It aids in the um... waste disposal process
