I went to two party's, one a baby shower, and one a graduation, and I ate cake, and more. I feel sick, and I gained 3 pounds, back that I lost. It was a bit of a bad weekend for me. I can't believe I was so weak. :( j

J, we aren't going to beat you up for eating cake. You seem to be doing a good job of doing that all by yourself. Put the weekend behind you, start fresh today, and just keep plugging in there. I find that if I have to go to some kind of party, it helps to take something low carb that everyone will like, so I'll at least have a treat I can eat. Like a lc cheesecake, or lc cookies. It really helps. The longer you stick with this woe, the easier it is to forego the junk, too. I'm on my second 100 day no-cheat challenge, and it has helped me so much to ignore the junk, because I know I'd have to post my cheats, and pride does not allow me to do that. I've even dreamed of cheating and woke up feeling guilty! Eating off plan doesn't make you weak, either. It takes a lot of willpower to stick to a particular woe. Just be sure that if you are in those circumstances again, that you eat beforehand if you can, so you aren't hungry and are less likely to eat what you shouldn't. You can do it. You can do it. You can do it!

| Yes, do not beat yourself up. The gain is just bloat, you have not undone everything. You will have to strictly for a few days adn drink a lot of water but you can move beyond this! The tough part is getting last the cravings again. Don't let it derail you completely of you could be looking at 10 real pounds jumping back on before you know it. Things happen, we all have our weak moments. But you can pick yourself up and move beyond the cake.

j-if your idea of low-carbing means making perfect food choices at all times, you'll be in for a bit of disappointment. NOBODY is perfect, and this includes you. any single choice (or even weekend of choices) will not make or break your success. it's the choices you make most often that will come home to roost. offplan eating means whatever you decide it means. i am a big believer in keeping a positive attitude and NEVER labeling myself as weak (or any of the other unflattering names we call ourselves). i mean, heck: has it helped you thusfar? your brain hears this stuff and believes it. best to stay positive. so ask yourself, did you get what you were looking for? did you feel better after you choose to eat the cake or whatever? what might you do differently next time to help you make choices you feel good about? and incidently, sometimes the choice might be to eat offplan. if you choose that all the time, you'll have problems losing weight, of course. but the issue isn't the individual choice. it's the context you put it in and what you do with it. you might be interested in an article i wrote a while back about recovering from a "cheat." so lighten up on yourself, see what you can learn from the experience, and keep putting one foot in front of the other. ok? peace out to you.

Don't feel bad... I barely lasted one day. And I ate some rice and some bread.... So I just started over. It's hard when your roomates mom comes and stays for a week and cooks up a storm. I still have 5 days till she leaves and Its hard when you open your fridge and nothing but carbs... Just don't let it depress you. My mom killed her diets by getting depressed and she would eat things that would just worsen her diet to feel better... (sounds odd but you would be supprised at how many people do this)
